my recruit didnt pass her running test. I know she is very upset and I only got to speak to her for a few minutes. Her dad and I are worried about her. She said she had to move out of her ship and away from her division. She will not graduate on Friday. But, what's next? We are out of our minds worrying about it, with no contact to find out what happens next. Can anybody shed some light?

She will be put in a new division that all they do is PT and try to get her so she can pass her run.  They spend a certain number of weeks doing that, if she can't pass than she will be removed from training and sent home.  If she does pass she will be put back with a differnent division and finish bootcamp.

She is still in a training status so she is still under the same rules that recruits must follow.

thank you, its hard not knowing what to expect
jeni - how far off was she on the run?  What is her age, and what was her time?
I think she was 36 seconds off her run. She's 23. jenj

Hi,

My daughter had a very tough time passing her run in boot camp.  She was off by almost two minutes.  She finally passed on the third time and was able to graduate with her division.  I think if you're daughter is only off by 36 seconds, she'll do it.  Just a minor set back.  Keeping her in my thoughts.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words. These young people have so much invested in this, its heart-wrenching when they struggle. they give up alot to go in, jobs, friends often boyfriends or girlfriends, they leave home and all they know for a chance at something very special and meaningful to them. Its a huge commitment. Its really hard on them and on us parents when it doesnt go smoothly. I know she's disappointed she wont get to graduate with her division, but I pray she graduates at all. Thank you again, positive thoughts are very welcome here

I'm hoping you're right, thanks so much :)
jenj  Is her PIR date 2/4? Here is the link to the PIR group...http://www.navyformoms.com/group/div061pir2411   better late than never. They are a huge group of N4M's whose Sailors will graduate this Friday...YAY
yes I know, thanks much, my hubby RJAY has been keeping track with the group. Looks like our daughter wont graduate with the division on Friday. We're really worried about her state of mind now, praying she doesnt lose confidence and give up... congrats to all the other who will graduate, keeping the faith, JJay (jenj)

How long is the run at the end of Boot Camp that they have to pass.. and what time do they have to do it in? (For a girl)
thanks,

JennNY

I know its a mile and a half, not sure of the time tho
Depends on their age.
