Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Do we get a phone call from them to let them know they arrived? We sent the son with no cell, so I’m kind of antsy that he got there safely. Plus, since he was a military brat he hasn’t concerned himself with our mailing addresses, I’m afraid he may not know it :(. I’m hoping he can remember what it is, but what if he doesn’t.

Hello Arlyn, They all go to MEPS before shipping out with medical processing. When they arrive at boot camp they will go through medical examination again and get dental exams along with lots of shots. Once they are all good in that. They begin grouping. They will have their first PFA run. If all goes well with that they get placed in their final division. My recruit did not pass the initial run and was ASMO’d and this pushed the PIR date out 2 weeks, This also changed the  division. This is why it’s highly recommended that you write as much as you can but do not mail letters until you get the Form letter or 3 weeks in you can get from recruiter.

hang in there! So much to learn but trust me ! we know more about the process than our recruits

Arlyn, my son went to MEPS back in November and was sworn in to the Navy at that time. However, he didn't leave for Boot Camp until Feb 2019. So the day he was to leave, he went back to MEPS. They did another less intensive physical, but they want to make sure nothing has changed, or no new medical problem or condition has developed. So, after the "second" MEPS exam, my son was sworn in again, gave us a hug and left for boot camp.  Hope this helps to clear up some confusion!
