Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi pghmom - First of all - WELCOME! Have you tried contacting your son's recruiter? He/she should be able to at least get a mailing address for you. Also, have you checked to see if there's anyone else in your son's ship/division - if so, they should be able to help you out with that info as well.

Hope you get some kind of contact info soon!
*** There is a correction to the address. It should be:

Ship 02 Div 949
3600 Ohio Street
Great Lakes, IL 60088

They were all moved to the brand new USS Reuben James. My sister is in this Division. We were given a few addresses in the beginning, but it's all sorted now. 38 days and counting!!
WOOOO im a steelers fan too. but ive adopted the PATRIOTS now thanks to my husband. he left on sept 1st..i have sent him 18 letters, 8pics, and 2 weeks of games scores :) still waiting on a letter though!
Hi Pgh Mom, I too am in Pittsburgh and my son left on Sept 1 with Oct 29th graduation date. We have had 3 letters but no phone call as yet. He said in his letter that his division keeps talking and not learning their stuff so he has had alot of IT. I guess that is why he hasn't called yet. It would be great to hear his voice, but at least PIR is only a month a way.
