Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Join the group, PIR 09/27/2013 TG 46 - 11 Divisions (361-370 and 946), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.
Since your SR will be in the Nuclear Field, you will want to join NUKE moms (there are other groups, but they are not active) and you may also want to check out Nuke School Charleston and Nuke A School FAQ. The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend.
He will receive his orders near the end of "A" School and you need to be on his Page 2 (in other words married to him) before he gets his orders in order for him to get accompanied orders and for the Navy to pay to move you. He can find out when the best time to marry will be when he goes through INDOC after arriving at Goose Creek. He won't have Leave over Thanksgiving (Liberty, yes, Leave, no), but he will have Leave sometime over the holiday stand down for the "A" Schools around Christmas and New Years. That may be a good time for the wedding, but he will have to check it out and get the chit approved. There may be others in Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors and/or NUKE moms who can give you more information on how it works.
I think you mean dependent pay and BAH rather than desperation pay.
