I like this
My son leaves a week from today and I'm afraid I'm going to be feeling sadder than I do now! When I saw your response my heart broke a little more- we cannot get any communication from his recruiter. I've tried calling several times- even called her superior- and can't get anythign! We do not know if we can take him to dinner the night before he leaves.... or if we can attend the swearing in (we don't even have an address as to where it will take place!).... or if we can see him at the airport. Should we have some communication from them?
Yes, you can take him to dinner (some require that you stay in the hotel dining room. Yes, you can attend to swearing in--they may stage it for you if there is not room during the actual swearing in. Yes, you can go to the airport. You need to know where each is to be though. Does your future Sailor want you at each of them?
He would like us to be there... He has made several calls to his recruiter asking her to call us back. Not sure what the problem is..... We're going to need some locations from them.... I know this will be part of military life- not knowing and waiting.... but they don't have him yet. I want to send him off right! :)
