My daughter will have PIR 11/24/10.  The day before Thanksgiving.  We are driving from South Carolina.  We have booked a suite at the Springhill Suites in Waukegan.  She has written and asked me to bring her cell phone.

Question:  Having a hard time getting the website to open to download and print the Parking Pass.  Any ideas?  Can I call someone?

Questions:  How much are the tolls on the Highway going through Chicago towards Great Lakes/Waukeagan area?  Should I buy a roll of quaters?

Question:  Does the website where you download the parking pass give directions to where we go for PIR?

Since she graduates the day before thanksgiving, she will have liberty from wednesday until sunday.  She said in her last letter that she will be allowed to go to Chicago.  I would love to spend a day there but I am from a small town and don't have a clue about a big city like Chicago.  Any suggestions?

Question?  I heard there are outlet shopping malls in Gurnee.  My daughter loves to shop.  Has anyone been there?

Thanks!  Holley's Mama #2

First of all join your PIR group. I'll leave you the link.

You have to have Google Chrome or Mozilla Foxfire browers to assess the can download is the correct link

You will need a roll of quarters for tolls. There arent that many but it will make you life easier.

Do you have a GPS? If on or borrow one from a friend. Google addresses to enter into it...RTC, the hotel, restaurants, etc

If you plan to go to Chicago...I recommend that you take the Metra into the city and then bus, walk, taxi everywhere.

There is a HUGE mall Gurnee Mall about 3 miles from RTC
thanks for the info!!!!! We just got a new GPS and I have been learning to use it. Will join the PIR group!

thank you!
I also agree with the shopping and going to see the sites in Chicago. I have always heard it is a neat city to visit. I think especially for a girl that has been isolated from everything - there is nothing like a day of shopping. Maybe go get your toes done together. Maybe buy a "special " gift for her graduating, maybe like a special piece of jewerlt or something of that nature - whatever she is into. I have a girly girly girly girl - and she would enjoy the day like that. Hit all the black friday sales. I think it would be fun!!! My recruit is a guy and that is what I have planned for him (except the pedicure) I don't think he would go for that!!!! He is a macho guy!! But I know he will enjoy seeing some sites in the city!!!
