DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I've been conversing with some OCS moms who have been very helpful and I appreciate all of the information as my LO gets ready to enter OCS on May 9th (mother's day no less).  I learned that there's a new group every 3 weeks so if I've got it right and the March 28th group is 16-10, then May 9th must be 18-10.  I'm learning so much and curious if anyone has someone starting May 9th. The date is fast approaching!!

What a good idea? If my son introduces us to his classmates, I will absolutely take pictures! I'm trying to find the facebook page. No luck yet. Do you know what I have to type in?
Are you even allowed to do that? Go to Facebook and type friends and family of OCS 18-10 in the search box. :) It should come up- request permission to do so.
did that and search said there were no results!
just type in ocs 18-10...will come up as a group to join.

How did you find out that people could go to visit than? I never heard of this...
The facebook page is called OCS Class 18-10 family and friends. I don't see why it would be a problem for anyone to take pictures as long as it is in their downtime. I really don't know though, ha ha.
Oh also, the facebook is technically a group, not a page....I don't know if that would change anything when searching.
Okey dokey, that was the secret ingredient! You have to first go into groups and then enter OCS Class 18-10! Just typing in OCS Class 18-10 in the search bring up no response! Thanks! I'm going to join now!
Went on the page and asked to be invited. It said there were 9 people in the group. I Didn't see any postings or discussions so I guess I have to be invited before I get to see anything or write anything.
I'll go approve you right now!
I am kind of stupid to Navy terms...what is outpost? what is FOC and BOC?
thank you!
I'm not familiar with all of the terms, abbrievations and acronyms either! It took me over a week to realize that LO meant Loved One!
