OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Can anyone tell me if I can view my son's graduation "live" online since I am unable to attend his ceremony...Ship 09 Div. 045 (Graduation 1/3/14)? Also, is there a place I can view the Christmas day pictures posted by our recruits? I am hoping to catch a glance of my son since I never heard from him Christmas day! Very sad he couldn't take 1 minute to call and say Merry Christmas! I miss him and hope this adventure helps him find himself and he eventually will return to his family, which loves and misses him dearly! All this mess just because of one person.....so sad!

The RTC will stream PIR live at http://www.livestream.com/usnavyrtc and http://navylive.dodlive.mil/ beginning at 8:45 am CST on the day of PIR for those who are unable to attend in person. Some of the organizations posted pics on their facebook pages, so if you know which organization adopted him, you can do a search for that.

If u have Facebook u can type sailor Christmas 2013 in the search bar and several pages come up to view Christmas pics of SR's
But if u didn't get a call, he probably didn't attend any of the church evsnts. My zon didn't either. : (

Your SR wasn't eligible for the Adopt-A-Sailor program. JORDANSMUM's son was eligible and most likely enjoyed being away from the RTC for the day. There were other things that kept him from calling her that had nothing to do with the availability of a phone to make the call.

I managed to call his father and stepmonther, as well as his wife! I was just surprised he didn't take the time to call me....really hurts my heart!

Sorry. Here's a cyber hug from one Navy Mom to another. (((((JORDANSMUM)))))

Thank you!

Sorry, "HE" managed to call everyone except me. It is sad but I will be okay. I am sure he will figure things out while in the Navy! I would love to see some pictures of him from Christmas but have not been able to locate them. Anyone know anything about Ship 09 Div 045 please pass it on to me! Thanks!

Check in the discussion for that division within your PIR group, PIR 01/03/2014 TG 08 - 10 Divisions (043-050, 907 and 908).
