I'm not exactly sure how this site works as I'm new to using it, but does anyone have any information regarding orders after A-School. My son is married and his wife has explained the process of the detailer cutting the orders which then sends them to a review board and then, after all of that, they still have to be approved by "costing" before they can be delved out to the people graduating.
However, all the classes graduating before my sons' class received their orders 1-2 weeks before graduation. My son graduates in 8 days (on the 22nd) and still hasn't received ANY word what-so-ever. My daughter-in-law explained that it probably has to do with budgeting since the detailer already cut the orders about 3 weeks ago (she works for the Federal Govt. and knows the detailer through a family friend) and it's the end of the Fiscal Year. But I'm starting to freak out for them both. How is his wife supposed to find a job/place to live without having any idea where they're going? Will he really be held for 1+ month longer down at Corry Station just because of this?
Everything seemed to be running smoothly with orders being handed out 1-2 weeks before graduation until his class came close to their graduation date. Is this a common problem? Is it possible for him to get his orders even though it's the end of the Fiscal Year? I still have hope he'll randomly get them before/on graduation day.

Yes, waiting for orders is not uncommon. It can all go smoothly, then hit a bump for whatever reason. Yes, end of the fiscal year can throw a monkey wrench into the process. I know it is very common for FCs in Great Lakes to be held for orders, sometimes for months. And yes, if they do not have orders they are held and must wait to take leave after school.
Hang in there. His wife sounds like she can handle the transition even if it is delayed.
