Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

MA is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor is an MA. I would like to invite you to join MAA Moms--there are other spouses in the group and no group for just spouses of MA's. I can't help you as far as places for accompanied orders since my Sailor is single.

I loved Yokosuka. We were there a long time, and when I separated from the Navy and became a dependent spouse, I subbed at Kinnick HIgh School. Terrific school, wonderful staff. There are other jobs on base, the usual stuff through AAFES and MWR. Childcare is in high demand if you get certified, and there's always teaching conversational English.
Japan is very expensive, tons of stuff to do and see though. Winter can get dreary, and the summers are sticky humid.

I heard Yokosuka was nice and expensive. However, we were hesitant about taking our car over there because everything that surrounds getting it registered and inspected. So, we have somewhat canceled out Japan. We were looking into Italy or Guam. From 2009 - 2011 we lived in Bahrain, which was a great experience and our first time living overseas. We definitely want to continue to explore other overseas duty stations.
We are definitely concerned with our daughter going to a great school, so hopefully our next duty station she loves it. I'm hoping to get more so a job that will compliment my education. I'm trying to get my experience to coincide with it. I have a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in Management and Leadership. I am currently working part time from home.
