Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Good morning!!! My son has his orders for his move. Does he have to report before he takes his family or should they go with him?? Can he call his TMOr does he have to do it in person??? They didn't do anything in for him in a school and he is currently on leave. PLEASE HELP!!!

If his new duty station is in the continental US, they just go with him.  Save all receipts for travel, he will need to fill out a travel claim.  Does he have a sponsor? Call them.  At the very least, he should call his new command and let them know he is arriving with family, will need lodging, and possibly ten days of house hunting leave (which is not chargeable leave at all).  Does he need a pack out of household goods?  That should have been arranged at A school!  Wow.  It still can be done, but will require someone with a POA to oversee the packing.  PPO (personal property office) should be able to help him, or begin on move.mil.  

If he is being stationed overseas, including Hawaii, his family will need to stay put until he checks in and can begin the command sponsorship process for them.  A completely different scenario, and if he is not yet an E-4, the family might not be able to go at all.
