OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Personnel Specialst - Just a few questions..
Future Sailor checking in. Leaving for boot april 18, and then to meridian for PS school. I have just a few questions...
What is PS school like, i know its self paced.
For those who have been PS for a while, what is the daily job/life like? I am going in as a E3 cause i have a degree.
I have heard many things about ranking up out of A school. is that possible?
As far as the "wish list" goes, how likely is it to actually go where you want to?

First, change your username so it does not contain your last name. That's for security purposes (persec = personal security).
Advancing straight out of A school is normally done by contract for the rates which have very long schools, and six to eight year enlistments. I am not familiar with one in that rating, could exist.
It is called a dream sheet, not a wish list. Out of A school? Your chances are slim, so research what the largest bases, and ask for those areas. Chances are you'll get a ship right off.
I don't know much about your A school, I was an ET and we trained at Great Lakes. However, if it is like every other Navy A school, you will have your liberty restricted at first, and will earn privileges such as wearing civilian clothes and going off base. You can have your cell phone, but not in school. Although self-paced, you will have to meet a schedule of performance or you'll attend mandatory study. There will be other training, such as indoc, so expect to be at your school for longer than the actual seat time of the A school.
I'm sure Craig will be along soon, he is also prior Navy and runs a group for Deppers. Tons of good info and advice.
