While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

PIR 10-4-13
So my son left Aug 4th and flew out and landed in Chicago Aug 5th got the call around 10:30 that night!! This has been a really LONG week...nat a lot of sleep either. So As i said previously got the box Fridya and the letter Saturday abotu his grad date beign Oct 4th. It has been bitter sweet all of it b/c I was down when I got the letter and relized it was just formalaties and not really a letter from him!
But today Sunday my phone at 7:23 am and it said Illinois and I jumped up for the phone and he said Mom...I said yes..he said my grad date has been changed to Oct 11th...I could hear them standing right beside him almost breathing on the phone...and I said I love you..he said I love you too, Bye! It was a 32 sec phone call and he sounded so distant and I could tell I was nto to ask anything more about it!
All that did was make me cry againa nd wonder what happend or why the delay when it was suppose to be Oct 4th. I just wanted to put this out there. He had his dental check up several months before and even though he has had cavities I dont think that was it and I also dont think its academics and physical yet b/c he was still in processing which takes about 5 days.
I know my sone made Special Forces as a Navy Diver....but I dont know if he got sick, had another cavity or what happend. I am sure this next week will seem very quite b/c it is finally sinking in and getting very quiye without him.
Just thought I would ramble...

They may have just moved him to the other 800 division for some reason. Perhaps they felt it was a better fit for him. Recruits for at least 3 800 divisions arrived last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and some have PIR on 10/04/2013 and some have PIR on 10/11/2013.

Hang in there!!!! I haven't gotten my letter yet so I'm still up in the air.:( very sad just wish he could just call for just a second just to hear his voice. I'm about to go see the recruiter if I don't get it his letter tomorrow. They just might be together...

Another possibility is that some or all of the recruits in the division were initially given the wrong PIR date, especially if he didn't give you a diferent division number. It has happened before.

I am waiting for my letter as well my son got to GL on August 5 and has a PIR date of 10/4/13 per his recruiter.. I got his box Monday but not the letter yet?!?

Hi All just got my son's letter I got his box last Friday. His PIR Oct 4th .div. 374 ship 13 he left Pa on Aug.6 for GL
haven't gotten a call from him except for his I'm here call...now the letters can be shipped out....

Join the group, PIR 10/04/2013 TG 47, to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. Divisions 373 and 374 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. There will later be a discussion within that group for the two divisions.
You may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). There will be a lot of great information and support for you there as well as in the PIR group. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of your groups.
