My son is also Ship 06 Div 946. He called his girlfriend on Saturday and she was kind enough to call me right away. I was disappointed that he didn't call me but not surprised. He also sent his box and information to her. I was sad a first but am trying to look at it through his eyes. I am promised the next call and am looking forward to it. It is so nice to meet loved ones of my son's division. It makes me feel connected.
Sorry to hear that you didn't hear from your son directly. I think my mother in-law might feel the same way sometimes. Thankfully she and I are very close and can share our feelings and she is very understanding. As a mother of a boy, I can see myself on the other side of this situation in the future. It is just plain hard for everyone.
Hi my name is linda, nice to meet you, sorry you missed the call, it was a great surprise to hear from our son, who is also ship 6 div 946, tehy must be doing very well which is encouraging for us. I find the site to be VERY
VERY useful and helpful. what is your son going to be doing after BC our is doing CTR and coing to penniscola Fl for school.. hope to meet you in ILL for graduation..
Hello my name is Mary Margaret, my son's name is Jacob. He is also doing CTR..and then going to Pensacola, Fl for school. They probably will be in the same classes there also. And yes ....see you in 48 days in ILL for graduation
My son will be a sonar technologist, doing A school in San Diego we think immediately after PIR. What is CRT? Looking forward to meeting you also. This is txsailorsam (Donna). There seem to be a lot of Donna's.
Hi my name is Donna. My granddaughter is in DIV 342 SHIP 13. Is there anyone else out there in the same? PIR is 10/01/2010. We are attending and really excited about the whole experience and seeing Breanna again (and in uniform). Would love to share with others in the same DIV & SHIP
Welcome Donna!
Feel free to start a discussion for her ship and div, others will see it and join in.
We received a phone call from our son today. It was such a blessing to hear his voice. I asked him how the "team" was coming together. His reply floored me. He said "It's not a team, it's family!". He spoke those words with deep sincerity. I don't know what they are putting in the water out there in IL but it is sure working (Lol). I guess what I am trying to say is that I was amazed to hear him call his fellow recruits "a family", especially after less than 2 weeks.
Does any one know if any of the guys in this div are STG. Sf said he is grad"N go. :( I won't get to spend much time with him. I am sooo bummed about it. It was however good to talk 45 min w/ him today.
Grad and Go is not always a bad thing it can be a very good thing. Where does he go for A-school?
He goes to San Diego.
Hi everyone, my daughter is a recent graduate from the 936 division. She was in the choir. She is working at becoming an AO and is in Pensacola for A-school. She was a grad and go and was on a chartered flight. I organized the meet and greet at the Ramada and stayed at the Navy lodge. I also made ribbons for out PIR Group and I am still making ribbons for other PIR groups as well. If anyone has any questions at all please feel free to send me a friend request and ask. I would be honored to help. We only had 3 or 4 from the 900 divisions on N4M's when my daughter had PIR so y'all are a lucky group to have so many. The 900 divisions are the performing divisions. They carry the 50 state flags, house the band and the choir as well as the drill team. They move between lines at PIR to watch for anyone who looks like they may faint. The are also the ones who are used as greeters and door openers at PIR. They are known as the best of the best even though all the recruits are AWESOME. It is an honor to be chosen for this division. :)
