my husband graduates that day however he is in 02/940. i cant wait! have you received a call yet?

Hi

My Son is PIR Aug 19th too but he is Ship 10 Div 266. How are you doing? Is this your first child in the military/Navy?

I am doing fine!  How are you?  We will do a lot better as soon as we hear from our kids!!  This is my second time around!!  I have another son who is Air Force.  He is an EOD Tech. It doest make it any easier, but I do know kinda what to expect!  Are you going to the Graduation?

Yes we are going to graduation...tickets already bought since we are coming from Colorado. Waiting the on the motel till this week. My mom and dad live in MN (where we are really from LOL) and we are going to check and see if they can use one of the camper sites at the base. My dad served in the Army during the 60's so we didn't know if that would qualify him for using the camp sites or if you have to be active military. If they can't then we will book rooms at the same motel.

Where did your Air Force son do boot camp? That is AWESOME you have 2 military kids. Tell them thank you for their service!!!!

My husband was navy too so he has helped A LOT to ease my worries and this website ROCKS!!!! When I get lonesome for my son I go here.

We will be going to graduation Too!!  We are in Washington, not purchased tickets yet though.  My A.F. son graduated boot camp from Lackland AFB San Antonio Texas.  We went and had an awsome time!!  My Navy Boot son was also along and loved the graduation!  I have been to 3 graduations for my AF son.  Boot camp, where he was a honor grad.  Then his went to what the navy refers to as A school,  He was an electrician on a C-!7 aircraft, graduated top of his class at Shepard AFB, Witchita Falls, Texas.  Then he decided to be an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Tech, gaduated from Eglin AFB in Florida last Oct.  again top of his class.  My navy son wanted to be a navy diver, passed his PST with flying colors and thought he got his contract , but was denied due to being color blind,  wish his recruiter would of told him they dont allow color blind people to be Navy divers!!   Instead he was encouraged to go for it. Kinda a huge disapointment for him, but said he was still going to be what he can be in the Navy!  I get lonesome for my boys and it is nice to have a place to go and others to talk to!!  Thank you for your family's service!!
hey my son is the same ship but div 267,and yes this is my 1st and its killing me.How are you handling it.I know dumb question...
It gets easier when you recieve the first letter and phone call ! The not knowing is awful!!  I do know that this is what my son wanted to do and I stay focused on that!  He was very excited to join the Navy!  It helps to know that they are well taken care of there too.
my son is div 267 as well. Let me know if you get a call today :)
Hi! I just got my letter with expected pir date of aug 19, my daughter is in ship 10 div 268. This is my first go round with military and I am ever so excited!!! Have absolutely no idea what to expect
Hey, I have friends who's son graduated BC in 98 and all they keep telling me is that we can't miss the graduation, they said its incredible and from what i've heard from everyone on N4M they agree.I absolutely can't wait.My son is ship 10 div 267,so were in this together. Are you going to the meet n greet?Looking foward to meeting everyone!
Hi! this is my first experience with military and I am so excited to find out more! my daughter is ship 10 div 268 expected pir aug 19,2011

This is my first experience as well. My husband was Navy before we were together and my dad was Army way before I was even born.  It does help though that my husband has a pretty good idea what our son is going through and this website has been a HUGE help too!!!! We already have out tickets for PIR (Pass in review-in civilian lingo, boot camp graduation!! LOL). My hubby says the first two weeks are the hardest!! Hang in there and stay in touch!!!
