Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I have a question- My son is in Ship 04 Div 816. I have gotten 1 call and 1 letter thus far. The day of PIR can I give him his cell phone to take to his A school at the end of the day to take with him to pre-buds??? I appreciate any input so I know if I need to take it with me

I am wondering if you are from the eastern part of the country because my son has become friends with a 19 yr. old going into SWCC in Div 816. He said they support one another and he is a good guy.

Yes I am from the East Coast and my son is 19yrs old. I did get two letters today and I am thrilled. He said he he got his wisdom teeth pulled and a couple of fillings too. He did say one guy in the division passed out from the pain. He said the waiting for inspections is long and he is learning the attention to the details. I cannot wait to see him and miss him so much.

It is so nice to "meet" you. My son said in his letter that your son is a good person. On the phone he said that they are helping each other get through this. I will be writing to Dan again later today and I will mention that we have connected through this group.
Yep, my boy is down 2 wisdom teeth and he got a couple of fillings, too. He (like his mom) hates going to the dentist. One thing is for sure, my sloppy boy is becoming a neatnik! He said in his call that they must be busy every moment, so he finds himself almost becoming compulsive about cleaning. Now, if only the guys who talk too much would learn to be quiet and keep their phone minutes.
This is harder than college...at least I was able to talk to my son almost any time I wanted to!

Sure he can have his cellphone after moving over on Friday. He can use it to call you Saturday morning to let you know he is ready to be picked up. Be prepared, its early. Military early.

Those are all very good questions, My son packed a bag before he shipped out.. He told me to bring his bag, laptop and iphone when I come to graduation. His bag is packed with civilian clothes, shoes, skivvies, socks, hat etc....
Anyone else have a similar situation? -

Hi All:
My son did the same thing. Packed a small bag with things to bring him. And occasionally in his letters he asks us to bring a few more things. Good idea sjtina about bringing many items and having him sort through them at the hotel/as well as the wet wipes an tide sticks!

jpostmd, yes take all that stuff with you. They don't have room for a lot of clothes, so maybe take his favorite running shoes and comfy clothes for the hotel. Since they will be wearing dress whites, bring some wet naps or Tide sticks, every little spot is noticeable. I would ask him when he calls what else he wants.
