I am assuming you got your form letter today? Yes, we do set up all the PIR groups, and the October 25th group will go up this weekend. Info about hotels can be found in the boot camp group, and will also be posted in the PIR groups.

Thanks so much! I got the PIR date from my son’s recruiter today. Still waiting on the form letter. So thankful for Navy for Moms!

Do know that the date of PIR, and if you received a division number, may not be accurate. Either of them could have changed since the recruiter received that information. Please wait on the form letter before making travel arrangements or mailing your recruit letters.

Thank you!!

I'm in several facebook groups that are also quite informative. The best hotel suggestions were:

Marriott Resort, Linconshire, ask for the $20 pineapple upgrade

Hampton Inn Waukegan got the most votes. 10 min from base, next door to Sarge's meet and greet on Thursday night, next door to Dunkin Donuts and Walmart and they have a free breakfast.

Navy Lodge is inexpensive and good, but very difficult to get in. They are not on the base but very close. You cannot book there until you have your SR's letter in hand unless you have military ID and then you can book for Leisure and don't need the letter.

Some bad reviews were Holiday Inn Express.

My sons PIR is 10/25 too!

Hampton Inn Waukegan also had a conference room with Livestream for the extras without tickets to the ceremony. We loved the noon checkout because we did the early, early morning airport run; we had time for a nap before leaving on Saturday.
Minor downsides- no shuttle to PIR and the area is somewhat rundown, a newer hotel in an area that has seen better days but is starting to come back. The hotel is fine, a basic Hampton. We met a family who brought their kids for the weekend, just to play in the pool.
