For anyone that wants to join our support groups on Facebook...here is the name of the page - PIR 11/16/12 & 10/16/15 US Navy. I started this group when my oldest went to the Navy and now it is time to get it going again.

The recruits arriving today could be in the 10/09/2015 TG or the 10/16/2105 TG. Form letters have not been received for either date yet and you won't know for sure which TG your recruit is in until you receive The Form Letter.

Hi-

I think we will be part of the 10/16 PIR and I would love to join-- but--  am having trouble accessing FB page...my page tells me that I have "no friends" w that address-- do I need to send "friend request"?

Pls. advise & many, many thanks!!!

KevsMom, yes, it is very possible that your future Sailor will have PIR on the 16th since he leaves on the 19th. Wait on The Form Letter to know the date for sure. Sailormom2012 may find that her recruit has PIR a week earlier than she expects and may change her group and then that group will not be for you. Once you know your then recruit's PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that.

Thank you SO much-- this is all very helpful, very supportive, and incredibly appreciated!!

KevsMom, You are very welcome.

Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for..., and the info I previously left on your My Page.

We will find out later this week the exact date. I will update the name of the FB page if the date changes. Please send me your email address in a message and I will add you to the group!!

Sailing hugs to you!
Just left MEPS. My son is shipping out today. It is so hard.
I am still waiting at MEPS. This is hard since this my youngest leaving the nest.
Big hugs to you
My son shipped from Fl

Left from recruiting station and by now- he is at MEPS. He (by his own admission) has butterflys his stomach. I told him that that was normal and I might be worried if he didn't have butterflys!

Will have dinner tonight before curfew and then, no doubt- will cry all the way home...!

Am looking forward to when, in a few days, the dust settles, and he begins more of a routine. Just need to get through the next few days....

Mine is back at the hotel. His flight was rescheduled for the morning. He sent me a text telling me that. I am hoping to get a few hours of sleep tonight.
