Help! Looking for a hotel during PIR early February.
Would like to be close by the Naval Station, comfy, clean, free breakfast and possibly walking distance to restaurants.
Any suggestions?

Still looking for a hotel recommendation from someone who has been. Want to find a Hotel walking distance to restaurants as we are not renting a car. any suggestions?
You might get a better response in the PIR forum instead of General Discussion. Also check the blogs, there's some PIR stuff posted there.
We stayed at Americas best value inn in waukegan they have shuttle to PIR and back a continentle breakfeat..about a 5- 10 min walk to gojo's 24 hr place it was good, white castle DD and a pizza place across the street(they deliver too) we got a room for 48 a night. it was clean quiet and friendly..it has a small fridge, microwave etc. its about 4 miles from the navy base we had no problems at all and no complaints about the place.
If you don't have a rental car, you need to check out one of the places with a shuttle. That knocks out the Navy Lodge. I believe Waukegan was close to some places to eat. Book early.
