We will probably have a PIR date that will be a week or two behind you guys. We will have just missed you. We will also be driving up from Tennessee. I teach and I'm afraid we will be in school by then. Oh Well! Guess I'll just have to miss those first few days. Good luck to you and your son.
Here is a Navy Night link for the guys in that Div. Navy Night. But yes my son also has this PIR date. We made our reservation already at the Ramada, where there is a meet and greet. My hubby just made sure he could get off of work and they had to go up to his bosses boss. go figure. but he got it off. Our other option is go and say our car broke down is Chicago.

how do I view the link please? I am new here....

We have a Survival Guide for Navy For Moms Newbie (just click on the underlined words to). You'll find everything you need to get started. Videos, PDF files of boot camp processing days, links to all the important groups plus tips on how to use this site. Keep in mind the videos and PDF files may take some time to download the first time you try it. It'll look like nothing is happening. Be patient. Best part is it'll be here on your very own page as a reference. Click the MY PAGE tab on above menubar to access your page anytime - you should do it at least once a day to see if you have any postings on your comment wall (like this one).

I just posted the above on your personal page. See the menu bar above with the words MAIN, INVITE, MY PAGE etc?   That is the menu bar. Now click MY PAGE. Take a look at your personal page. The middle center is where other member can leave a comment for you. Like I am about to do. You will not remember where to find this discussion but you can always click MY PAGE.

In addition, if you click MAIN (main page for Navy For Moms), in the middle section you'll find a bunch of discussions. One of them is a list of Navy For Moms groups associated with the PIR date (this stands for Pass In Review which is graduation from boot camp).

When you get you form letter, look for the PIR date. On this form letter you'll find your son/daughter's division number and other important stuff. Don't loose this form letter.

thank you so much for taking the time to give me such a helpful answer :-)

ohhhh....I see that now. But thank you for your reply!

Got our reservations made for the Navy Lodge for July 29, 30, 31. We will be driving. Longgggg drive for us but will be nice to have our own vehicle, cheaper, etc. My travels only take us to the ocean.....but this trip is taking us to our son!! yeah!
Hi Lucy, Just got my letter with a PIR of July 30th as well, my son is ship 10 division 258. Started to make my plans, my son wrote down twice "buy refundable tickets" I don't know if that is good or bad? Kyle's mom- T
My son is also ship 10 division 258. Haven't received a letter or phone call yet. I hope they are doing well! Josh's mom from Street, MD. Not sure where we are staying yet for graduation.
I received my daughters PIR date on Friday, same graduation date.
My son is PIR 7/30/10 also. I just found out he is grad-and-go, so won't have much time with him.
We just got our form letter today. Our daughter will also graduate on 7/30/10. She is Ship 12 Div 259. This is a week sooner than what my husband and I had expected. We were thrilled to hear about the date.

Mary, I'm so sorry about the grad-and-go news. I'm hoping that is not our situation. My heart truly goes out to all moms in the grad and go situation.
