Need some advice - son is home now on leave before traveling to his first duty station. He is single, no signifigant other, just me and dad. His banking (deposit of pay and car note) is handled thru Navy Federal Credit Union. I am encouraging him to get a power of attorney taken care of while he is here as we are within a few miles of the Seebee base in Gulfport and I think he would have access to their legal office there to take care of it. Please help me with explaining to him what some of the reasons are for the POA? I don't neccessarily want to be in his business, but in the event something needed to be done while he was out on his sub, or he was injured and we needed info I want to be able to get the info. Sorry so long - just want info to relay without trying to be an overbearing mom. I know some of you have had situations in the past in which you were either glad you had POA or wished you did. Thanks for all the input in advance - Hoppi, do you have any input??
