Hello all been on the site a handful of times but this is my first post. My question is something I cannot find much info on accross the web. I was DEPped into the navy as a nuke two years ago. At the time I was living far from my home and could not find a job to support my self and pay off my bills while in dep for eight months. Since leaving dep I have wished to go back for quite some time. I am hoping my chances are not shot. Does anyone know if they will take me back? I don't want to get laughed out of the recruiters office.
If it helps to know, I scored a 98 on the asvab and had no waivers except a minor traffic violation. I am currently 23 years old. Thank you very much for any help or advice!

Just to clarify:

Are you saying you took your ASVAB, and passed all the medical stuff?

Were you sworn in at MEPS, then you went into the DEP program?

Did you just not go when you were told to ship out, or did you ask for a DEP discharge?

You need to provide a little more detail if you want the correct information.

I apologize for the confusion. I went through meps and was sworn into the dep.
Also, I was taken out of dep properly. I didn't just "not show up"
You will need to go through the whole process again and get a waiver for being dep discharged, not sure about the ASVAB test though.  You may have to retake it.
Thank you for the info, also in case anyone is wondering about the ASVAB, I did find out that the score is good for two years from the test date.  (In my case I will ahve to retake it)
I am not sure when you left the DEP but I have heard that you have to wait one year before you can try to join again. I would talk to a recruiter and have a list of questions ready before you go so that you don't forget to ask something.
