Hello Navy Family I'm so thankful to be a part of the Navy moms. I was wondering if any one can tell me how do I go about getting proof that i'm a Navy mom? I miss out on so many discounts because I have any type of proof. My daughter has been in the Navy for two wonderful years and she really is enjoying it. I'm always prayerful and thankful that God has blessed her to serve our country.

I have never heard of discounts for Navy moms, only active duty, sometimes veterans, and husband/wives/children of active duty, but not moms/dads/siblings? Where are they giving discounts for being a Navy mom?
I agree with Kathy; I have never seen discounts for anyone other than those who served and once in awhile for their dependents (there are a few places that give a discount for spouses of those who are deployed). We get a discount on meals sometimes when my Sailor is with me because of his service. Be proud of your Sailor and display a Navy Mom decal if you want, but don't expect any discounts for her service. You'll have to be happy with the Senior discount if/when you are eligible.
They give you the discount if you have the dependent ID, not for being a parent or relative. I am a dependent of a retired sailor, so I'm familiar with the discounts "Family member" does specifically mean a dependent holding the government issued DD 1173 ID card. There is no "proof" of being a proud parent, other than standing taller and having that gleam in your eye.
Here is the information on Old Navy's Military Mondays (clickable link in fB):
===== Legal Information ========
Offer valid for all eligible active, retired and reserve US military personnel and family members who present a valid military ID. Offer valid at Old navy stores in the US only. Not valid at oldnavy.com. Discount applies to merchandise only, not value of gift cards purchased, packaging or applicable taxes. No adjustments on previous purchases. Not valid for cash or cash equivalent. Cannot be combined with other offers or discounts including Gap inc. employee discount.
As you can see, the family member must present a valid military ID. I'm sure it is the same for the other places as well.
You can not get a military ID card, unless your daughter is supporting you with more than 50% of your income...and than she has to get approval from big Navy for you to be her dependent. She also has to show proof that she has been supporting you for at least 6-12 months.
Otherwise you do not qualify for any of the bennies the military get...she is the one in the military, she is entilited to those bennies (and her husband and kids...when ever they come along :~}
