Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Sandra When is your son going to PIR?? You need to join the PIR group...is will be your lifeline for info, support and just to chat
They use different airports to fly them out.

Wow, I'd like to know this too. My son has not got any info for me yet and he is leaving for boot camp on July 27th.....my heart is so heavy. I know this will be so good for him, but why am I so sad. My friends are very supportive, but only one has had to go through what I am. I have a real hard time hiding my tears. Help

Metalback He can take a cell phone to call you along the way and to maake the last "I'm here" call then pack it up to be sent home.
He'll need ID, social, bank info, addresses/phone numbers of personal references, address of people he wants to write, activated calling card...with lots of minutes,a small amt of cash ($25) and just the clothes on his back.
He needs to eat before he reports to the USO or the Navy and sleep on the plane no sleep/food for up to 40 hours (sometimes more)

Yeah its too bad the recuiters don't tell you that you can attend this. I wish I had known.

You absolutely can go but be prepared to be there most of the day. The swearing in is so awesome, then after that it all goes so quick, the recruits go into a room for a briefing they get there travel orders and a check, then they line them up depending on where they are going and they load up in vans and off to the airport. My daughters swearing in had 7 vans going to the airport. You will get a 10 second (literally) around midnight that night just enough time to say Hi mom I am here I have to go call you when I can. Then thats it for about 3 to 4 weeks until the next phone call.
