For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I'm hearing from my ex mother in law that she got a phone call today. My son is in SEP. She said that he told her that the whole unit wasn't catching on, then it was said you have 5 minutes to pack your stuff and go home (or something like that along that line) So he then said as some of the recruits were trying to fight it his heart was racing because he didn't know what the heck was going on, then he went to medical and next thing he knew he was told he was going home. His grandma said she got that most of his unit was sent home at the same time. Has anyone heard of this ??

No, it is unlikely that most of his division was sent to SEPS since all divisions are active in the 02/26/2016 TG (the TG he was most likely in). Yes, it is common for the recruits in most divisions not to "get it" in the first half of BC and for the RDC to threaten SEPS, but most of the shipmates see the tactic for what it is and start working together. If your recruit feels that he really should be staying and that this is not an on-going condition, then he should appeal the decision. Some are successful in making an appeal and do find themselves back in training with a division in a later TG.
