I am new to the Navy and have many questions to ask that Google cannot seem to answer. So I would be appreciate for any answers you can give me to the following questions.

1. How long before I should be expecting a letter? He left April 1st and I have been checking my mailbox everyday since the day he left...sometimes multiple times a day.

2. When he does graduate will he have to report back to the barracks at night or will he be allowed to stay with his family?

3. Everyone is telling me that he will change. When people say that it scares me because I loved the person he was before he left. If he does change how will he change?

4. Since he  will be going to Nuke school after he graduates how long will it be before he has phone calls, and is able to receive visits or leave on the weekend?

That's really all I have right now. If you could answer any of these it would be very helpful.

1. Two to three weeks.

2. Don't know yet, it could be either. He may fly out Friday of he's going down to nuke school. He will know if he is grad and go closer to the end of boot camp.

3. More mature, more confident, possibly more organized. More focused. His PIR weekend, he may still be wound up and not used to talking much. That's temporary. Oh, and frequently, more polite.

4. He can have his phone right away at Nuke school, but he will have times he can't use it. He can have visits soon after he gets there, but he has to earn his privileges. While he is at Goose Creek, he can only travel 450 miles on the weekends (no flights without permission), unless he is granted leave days (unusual).
Thank you thank you thank you!!! :)
1. Its take about 3 weeks to get a letter.
2. Liberty depends on command and whether he's grad and go or not.
3. When B went into the Navy he did change, he became more responsible, he thought about his actions and words more carefully. He became a better person.
4. No clue about nuke school, but Charleston, sc is an amazing place and love traveling to see B's brother out there we always have a blast lots to do.
And don't be suprised if they learn to cuss like a sailor.
He already did before he left...maybe he'll revert.
My son was 29 and very mature when he went in so I really didn't expect much of a change, but there was! He just carried himself more proudly, was softer spoken, more considerate. Just generally more "together." Any changes seem to be for the good.
Join the "nuke moms" and "nuke school charleston" There will be answers to your questions there also. Nuke school charleston is open to all, but is mostly the young wives of the guys at Goose Creek.
How do you join a group? Let alone find it on here?
Barry's gf - to join a group, go to the group heading up top. Then, you will can scroll thru all 1000+ groups or put "nuke school charleston" or "navy moms" in the search box, then enter. This will let you see the discussion. To actually join, you just have to indicate you want to join once you get to the site. Sorry this is not very clear. You can also go to how to do things on N4M site. Good luck. My son finished prototype in December and is not stationed in Groton. It is a roller coaster ride. Good luck!!
