Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Check out boot camp moms, new moms stop here first and then check the item posted at the top on the forums page This will get you started. Like all military the Navy does have a language of its own and new ones are added at each phase of the career I've been doing this since 1984 and am still learning. One example by oldest son said he was going to the dump and do an off load....dump = garbage right?? no not in the Navy he was going to the ammo depot and unloading his extra munitions or returning them to stock. I also would recommend you do one phase at a time start with the boot camp then as she goes on to A school which is advance training follow it then she could get her duty station where she will be at and then when she goes to sea duty think about the deployments it can take a long time depending on her additional training and if assigned to a ship what rotation it is on (shore or sea). Welcome aboard.

Start with the Survival Guide - step by step, with jvideos, power point presentations, links, explanations, tips on using this site. It'll have the link to the Recruit Training Command. This site provided "official" information. The videos are fantastic. You'll feel like you are in Boot Camp yourself.
