Does anyone else have a recruit who left for boot camp on June 22?  My son left on that day & I was looking for moms who are at the same stage of this that I am.

Lucky!:p
My bf left Wednesday June 23rd to Great Lakes. I'm in San Antonio...patiently (ok not so patiently) waiting for his first letter!
We haven't gotten our 1st letter yet either. Do you know what ship & division he is in & when his PIR date is?
My son left on the 22nd. We got our first short letter telling us that us that his graduation date is August 13. Haven't gotten anything since, but am looking forward to hearing from him.
We finally got our 1st letters on Friday. I got 2 & his GF got 2. He seemed really upbeat & mentioned 2 recruits who have last names starting with B & C. He said that the girls up there really love their accent.
So happy that you got letters! I haven't gotten anything else since last Thursday. One of those recruits could be my son. Regarding your son's accent, where are you located? My son told me that everybody loved to hear him talk when he arrived at the airport in Chicago. Of course, he probably was really emphasising his "Southern" accent once he got some response about it. LOL!
We live in northwest Louisiana so we have a drawl ourselves LOL!!!. Where is your son going for A school?
We are pretty sure it will be San Antonio... what about your son, where will he be?

Have you had a phone call yet? I am hoping that we get one this week.... I told my husband and daughter last night, that I was just give anything hear his voice. I believe in my heart that he is doing good as letter said, but I would just love to hear him.
He is going to Groton, CT for sub school. At least that is what he said before he left.

We haven't gotten a phone call yet either, I see on the PIR group that div 275 has gotten some calls. I am like you, I believe that he is doing good, but I want to hear his voice.
Did you get a call today? Justin told me today that he may not be able to serve on a sub because he is anemic & that he may be going to San Antonio for A school. He will know more next week. If your son's last name starts w/ a C, the two of them have a contest to see who can get the most mail LOL. Justin said that they both have stacks of mail so far.

I sent a friend request to you so we can talk more securely.
Yes I got a call!!!!! I was just happy to hear his voice and he sounded GREAT!! He said so far that everything is good.... and yes that "C" has to be son!!! I meant to ask him if he knew anything about your son, and I totally ran out of time! I split it with his sister, and my husband got home from work just about the time they were telling them to get off the of phone, so his conversation with Deron, was Hi Deron, how are you? and Deron said Hi Dad, I have to go! I felt so bad for my husband, so I told him the next call was his!!!!! So happy that we both heard from them. Can't wait until August 13!
