Hello! How common is it for those attending PIR to wear ribbons in support of their graduating recruit? I've been getting ready and debating if we’ll make these. Thank you!

I really have no idea. Your best bet would be to post this in your PIR group, as I have seen some where the majority of people on this site were going to do so, and others where it wasn't mentioned.
My advice is to do what feels right to you. Will it matter to your new sailor? Will you want pics showing that extra effort you made? Or will being there be the only thing that matters? Follow your heart.

I ordered a set off Etsy for us 4 to wear! I guess it’s personal preset it I saw them & thought they were cute & im that mom who’s all about showing how proud I am to be a Navy mom!

Thank you! I saw those on Etsy and they are cute! Thinking of getting some, just started reading about them, so I wasn’t sure about it. They’d look super cute in a shadow box with a PIR photo!

Oh, yes...a shadow box! Great idea!

I made mine and loved wearing it to PIR. I also made them for family and friends that gathered to watch it stream live back home. I didnt see very many people wear them at the actual PIR but were were so well layered who knows. :)

Hi ni-Cole, you will see many moms with either navy jewelry and or ribbons at PIR. I personally wore navy jewelry as my daughter and decorated the door with ribbons even a banner. So there is no right or wrong just your preference.
