--- We only get sporadic, short emails while they're out!

Our son has just been assigned to USS Nevada and arrives later this month in Washington.
Hi! Our son, Kevin has been on the Nebraska for about 2 1/2 years. He is an ET and nuke guy. He recently bought a house in Port Orchard. What does your son do?
My son is also currently on the Nebraska and is an ET nuke guy. He took this assignment as a special chance to get his qualifications; otherwise, he is stationed in Virginia Beach. Which crew is your son assigned to?
Hi Ken's Mom, I was just re-reading through all this info and realized I'm a dunce! Kevin is on the Nevada, not the Nebraska. He did go out with the Nebraska blue crew in the fall and was on board when they had the accident. He is not re-assigned to the Nevada. Don't know what I was thinking!

Is your son settling in up in Washington? We were up there over Christmas when they had so much snow! My husband threw his back out shoveling. We live in Colorado and haven't had that much snow this year!

What does sour son do? Kevin is a nuke.
My son, David just made MM3 aboard USS Bremerton. He's been in a little over a year. He joined the crew in July, 2008, right before leaving on his first cruise. This will be our first christmas without him, but I am very proud of him and happy that he is starting this new and exciting life.
My son is an Ensign on the USS Buffalo out in Guam. This will be my first Christmas without him but he sounds happy. The 15 hour time difference makes it hard to call but we've learned to work around the time zones. Should be quite an adventure when we go to visit, although the distance and their schedule (planned or otherwise) could make that difficult!
My son Beau is a "Nuke" on the USS Conn out of Bangor, WA. He's been in the Navy for 5 years now. I guess you would say I'm a seasoned Navy Mom now.
Dear Jan, I think I've got you beat! Kris has been on subs for the past 11 years. He, too, is out of the Bangor group. He's on the Henry M. Jackson and a Nuke. Don't know where you live, but we took a trip out west in 2007 to visit the family and the area there is beautiful. If you get a chance, go and be sure you visit the submariners museum. It's wonderful and you;ll get a good idea of that your son really does when he's underway.

Love, Andi
Hi,My son Mike has been in 7 yrs now.. He was on the Alabama Gold Crew.. Now hes on the Michigan. He is a navagator.
He and his family are coming on for christmas. He is also station in Washington State...But he will be getting off the subs in September.. Hes going to Italy for 3 yrs...
My son is on the USS Miami in Groton. We are hoping he will make it home around New Years.
My son Sean is LT on USS New Mexico. The boat was christened last Saturday Dec. 13. It was very exciting, now if they can just get to the water!
My son is on the USS New Mexico also. He is a Petty Officer 3rd class. His name is Dusty.
