For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi all, My son is just about to graduate A school (February 28) in Groton and will be in Bangor on the Seawolf when he is done. He is pretty excited but also says that when that boat goes out it stays out for a long time.
Any other Mom's of sailors on the Seawolf have any advise...
By the way good to be on here and great to meet you all.

It does go out for a long time, my oldest is based in Groton CT on USS Alexandria Submarien. But they only make a couple depoloyments. Ships do too though as I have my youngest on a carrier, currently out on the USS Abe Lincoln Carrier. he left before Thanksgiving and won't be back until June or July. All I can say is for both the submariner and sailors keep in touch on facebook with other people who have sailors and find all the groups you can on Navy 4 Moms. It is so helpful. And CONGRATULATIONS on his graduation. I hope you can attend! It is the most amazing thing!

Yes they have been on the news a lot lately. Trust me I am surviving on faith and prayers. Thank you so much. I don't know what I would do with our family of Navy Moms (wives, girlfriends etc) that we have on here. :0)

Are there any moms out there with sons on the Mississippi? And are you planning on attending the commissioning? I am a new Navy mom, live in the northwest, and deciding on whether to attend since it is so far away.

My son isn't on the Mississippi but, I would encourage you to attend. My son was on the New Hampshire when it was commissioned. We were so glad that we went. Like you, it was quite a trip for us and an expense. But we were able to meet crew members and officers of the boat, that he had worked so hard with in the completion of the boat. And tour the boat itself! It was something he was so proud of, ( and of course we were of him). He may never have an assignment like it again.. I'm very glad that we went and would do so again if the opportunity came.

My son is a MM on the USS Toledo. We as a family are getting ready for the first deployment and I don't feel Like I know anything!
