Hi All! I am so excited I found you all... overwhelmed doesn't cover how I am feeling and I'm hoping I can find some answers. Right now, my boyfriend (who is in the Honor Guard for the Coast Guard) and I live together, along with 3 other young Coastie gentlemen. The living situation is less than desirable, so my boyfriend (Alex) said I could lead the charge in finding a new place. We both definitely didn't think we'd find something so quickly, but we have just been approved for this clean, beautiful, safe and quaint apartment that will be perfect for the two of us. Our move in date is set for the last week in March/ first week in April. The added bonus is they are a part of the Rental Partnership Program (RPP) which is what makes this place in our budget. However, the place we live in now is privately owned so they are not part of RPP, so we have no idea how this program works, all we have from our new leasing office is a piece of paper to take to the Housing Office.

My boyfriend is overwhelmed with the processes, he is very excited and ready for this move but him going out of his comfort zone is proving to be challenging. I am trying to help in out in whatever way I can to make this processes easier on him, but I can't seem to find the answers I need. One of our biggest concerns is how RPP works in regards to rent, do they choose when they take it out? Will I be able to be put down as a second form of payment so it get's taken out of both our accounts? Can the rent payment be split between both paychecks because that's how is BAH is set up? We both have other bills and payments we have set up so we're trying to get an idea so we can plan. Also, how do we make a plan and make this process as easy as possible and do it in a timely manner, so it's set up before the move in date?

The second concern is finding a replacement for our room in the house we are at now. The lease that he is co-signed on doesn't end until October but the landlord is flexible to let whoever wants/ has to leave do so freely, as long as someone else can come in their spot and pay the rent. I suggested he just start asking around at work, word of mouth that there's a master bedroom available literally 20 yards away from base sounds pretty appealing, right? Alex has his doubts about it so this has been a major stress. Any advise on how to find a replacement? Or is there a website someone can point me to where I can put this listing up for military personnel, considering we are in the proximity of 2 major bases?

I also am trying to find furniture in our budget because all we have is a bedroom set. Anyone have any suggestions?

All and all I guess I'm seeking any advise. This is a big step for us and our future, neither of us has lived alone with an SO, so there's some jitters driving that (great jitters, but jitters none the less). I believe that this will be the next logical step for us considering engagement talk has been getting more an more, we are even starting to get ideas together for a small wedding in 2019 (he just needs to pop the question). With all of this, plus adding the military policies and regulations on top of it all, I'm really looking for a piece of mind, any help is greatly appreciated. <3
