Anyone has a son/daughter in this Division?  My son will graduate 12/02/2011 (estimated, I guess - we haven't gotten the formal letter yet).  I'm so excited for him!  And proud beyond belief!!!  If you reply, please let me know where you live (at least the state) - I live in Texas (deep East Texas, close to Louisiana border).

Everybody hang in there!  I know there is still lots of time left before we see our kiddos -- but they are going to be in such good shape (both physically and mentally).  Their self-esteem is going to be great!  We need to be strong for them!

Welcome Carol! I used to live in Sacramento :) look forward to meeting you!

They usually are free to leave with parents the same Friday after graduation around 10:30am they have to come back the same day by 8pm, on Saturday and Sunday they are free to go out also, but have to come back each day by 8:pm, obviously this happen if they are not schedule to fly the weekend to school, some times happen that they can be at base in Great Lakes for a week, with a lot of freedom and time to get ready for school.

The recruiter told us that when they are at school they may have 1 or 2 weeks free for Christmas and New Year, being free to go home for those days, requirement is to report every day at the recruiter office, and also they can have some work done at the office for which they will get paid.

Hope helps to plan your trip to Great Lakes, we are going to fly Thursday afternoon, planing to come back home by Sunday afternoon, so we can spend as much time possible with our SR.

Good Monday Morning Div. 903 Moms! (And anyone else visiting) - 31 days till we all stand and watch our children accomplish one of the hardest things they've probably ever done!  I can't wait to see my son, and his fellow SRs mark this event with all of us there!  Can't wait to see you mom's either :)

Hear, hear! I second that!!

And I third it . . . if that's possible.  :O)

They carry flags from the states that kids are from on that graduation, they don't carry the 50 states flags, my kid is 5'6" but didn't told me anything if he is going to carry a flag or sword, maybe any other graduation. The recruiter say that kids who were on the JROTC in high school are the ones selected for the 903 DIV. Making plans and bookings for 12/02 Hope to see you there!
My SR wasn't in JROTC, but she was in the marching band.  That may have helped her get into the 903 . . . I don't know for sure.

My son didn't do anything related to band, or marching or ROTC LOL  Just lucky I guess - his recruiter said it was his ASVAB score so we are thinking it had to be that...

Did anyone of you received any other letter or phone call? We are waiting for aditional communications, hope tomorrow and/or Friday....
Just a letter last thursday and a phone call on Friday.  Looking forward to a letter tomorrow.  Doubt I'll get a phone call until the "I'm a sailor, Mom" call after battlestations.  At least I hope that's my next phone call.

Looks like our SRs will have a busy week next week.  They should be on 4-1 starting on Monday according to what my SR told me during our phone call last Friday.  I copied their schedule from the blog post . . .

4-1 Day
- PFA for Olympic Flag, no more than 10-15 people can fail.
------------------------
4-2 Day
- SAMT Laser gun training
- Zone Inspection
-------------------------
4-3 Day
- Live Fire 9mm and Shotgun. You need to score 180 or more to receive a ribbon/medal for uniform.
-------------------------
4-4 Day
- Drill inpection for Drill Flag
- Photo's
- Photo's and Navy "yearbook" division in house compartment pictures
- Tailor #2 (individual Dress uniforms
-------------------------
4-5 Day
- Trift Savings Plan class
- Test #2
- Go to NEX for shampoo and conditioner

Two possible flags for the division and ribbon for their uniform, and Test #2.  We need to pray for them this week to maintain strong and work together as a team.  My SR told me the 903 had already earned an academic flag.  HOOYAH!!  GO 903!!!

This is great, thank you!
