Good evening ladies! I know its been a while but I have a big question. Was there anyone who ordered a copy of the graduation DVD? We never got a copy and by the time I tried to order it, they said it wasn't available. We would love to have a copy. If anyone can help me out, please let me know! Hope all is well with everyone. Take Care
San Diego is where my Sailor wants to be stationed. He had three more weeks of Sub School than he starts A School.
Anyone else receive their orders and headed to San Diego? My daughter will head to San Diego sometime in March...
My Sailor made it back to Groton, CT safe and sound...
Maja - Yes he is doing Sub School right now than A School for Machinist Mate..
ProudNavyMom - I think once I get moving on the Christmas stuff things will start falling into place for me. I ordered a new rug for under the dining room table and new valances for the kitchen window/patio door. I always seem to do something in the house in January. Maybe because the house looks so "sad" once the Christmas stuff is gone. Plus it's usually cold and snowy outside, so it's a pick me up just for me. Just not quite the "go-getter" like you!
Maja/Ship 09 Div 16 - I had to work myself up to doing that since he left for boot camp. I figured since he left his room a mess when he left last Thursday, I would just do the good thorough cleaning and get it over with. Since I was already in the mood to clean up the Christmas stuff, it helped to just get it all done at once.
ProudNavyMom - OMG! How on earth did you manage to clean-up after your sailor left and get all the Christmas stuff down. My girl just left to return to Great Lakes this morning and "getting busy" was my plan. Can't seem to shift into gear and can't bring myself to open her bedroom door. Please share how and where you got the tenacity to get all that done and weather your son's departure at the same time. You're amazing!
Pentwater98 - Well, my girl is in Chicago and on her way back to Great Lakes which is where her "A" school is. Just out of curiosity, is your son pulling sub duty. My husband is a veteran submariner and he talks about Groton, CT all the time. Again, I'm finding solace on this website. Talking with you and other Mom's who are going thru the same thing just makes things so much more bearable. Thanks so much for being here for me!
Taking my Sailor to the airport in a few hours to go back to Groton, CT.. This time isn't any easier... One very sad Navy Mom right now...
Happy New Year ladies!!! It's been a few weeks since I've checked in here. My sailor was able to come home for Christmas and that was wonderful. We had a great time with him here. He went to church with us on Christmas morning wearing his dress blues. So many people came up to him and shook his hand and thanked him for his service to our country. I was so proud. Our Christmas was great. My son spent almost all of his time at home with us. He only spent a few nights out with some friends. I was glad he was considerate of his family and wanted to be with us. I took him Christmas shopping and he was so proud to be able to go shopping and spend his money on gifts for us. He bought me a coach purse! Anyway, it was an amazing 9 days spent with my son. When he left to go back to A school, he took alot of his own things from home. I spent Friday taking down all the Christmas decorations and then did a good thorough cleaning on his room. What he did leave here has been put away in the dresser drawers and the room is now ready to use as a guest room. I'm so proud of my son. He's matured so much. He calls me all the time and texts me. My birthday is tomorrow and when he got back to base, he went to purchase me a gift and put it in the mail to me. I love that boy!!!
