Hello All and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hadn't seen a group formed yet for our ship, so I thought I would start one (Ship 02, Div 911 - USS Reuben James (PIR Feb 4, 2011)) so we all can be in touch! We have a special connection with band, choir, and drill team!  It will be great to share our experiences, stories and plans to meet up for PIR in Feb!  I'm a new Navy mom, and missing my daughter greatly right about now (as I am sure we all are missing our loved ones!), but am so very proud.  Let's chat!

Hello Robyn and good morning to all.  Ok I cant take my phone in the shower.....thinking about placing it in a plastic baggie now! lololol
Plastic baggie?!  I love it! ;o))
Hi Robyn! I'll second that! Can hardly wait for that phone call!!! When did your son ship out to BC?
He left 11/29, a month ago today! :(( Seems only yesterday and forever ago all at the same time!

Okay, I am getting jealous of these people getting phone calls.  I was looking at the Boot Camp Moms group and there are people in their whose kiddos have a PIR date of 2/11 that are getting calls!  I wonder why ours haven't gotten to call.  It's probably my son, he never did know how to make a bed very well! lol

Yes ... I saw that too and turned green with envy! ;o)  I made that same comment to my son -- what gives?!  As for who or what's holding up that ship, I guess we'll find out when we eventually get that ever-lovin' phone call! ;o)
I guess I could do what my mother did when my brother went in...just call his RDC and tell him to tell my son to CALL HOME although it's not an emergency :D  Don't you know it took the entire boot camp and then some for my brother to get over that one! lol
hahah Robyn - Making the bed can be tedious! Our group is going to freak out when we get the calls. My husband said I bet we get a call after this Tuesday considering the 11/29 depart day. The numbers game, I guess ;-)   now all we can do is wait until this Wednesday or Thursday for a letter.

if we have to wait too much longer, I may tinkle myself!  I think the Navy and I need to have a come to Jesus meeting! lol yeah, right, eh? :P

Hey Ship 02, Div 911 buds!  My son and I were talking yesterday about what we can do to stand out for our DIV 911 at PIR.  Some ideas were us all wearing red scarves since it will be mighty cold in that neck of the woods, and red because our Sailors will be in their Navy Blues!  Or, white would work as well.  We also had a thought of some sort of flashy pin or something.  Any ideas?!  ;o)
I like the red scarf idea:)
Red or white sounds great! Remember some husbands might be going too, so we need to think of a color that might work well for them  ;-)
