Hello All and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hadn't seen a group formed yet for our ship, so I thought I would start one (Ship 02, Div 911 - USS Reuben James (PIR Feb 4, 2011)) so we all can be in touch! We have a special connection with band, choir, and drill team!  It will be great to share our experiences, stories and plans to meet up for PIR in Feb!  I'm a new Navy mom, and missing my daughter greatly right about now (as I am sure we all are missing our loved ones!), but am so very proud.  Let's chat!

hey gals i am so happy for everyone..  well thanks to you all i do believe we have found our SR.. we were unsure until you all pointed out your SR's. THEN we knew for sure that this group was definitely our 911 group.  we are pretty sure the trombone player on the front row, end,  left side of your screen is my daughters fiance.
Woohoo, Gina! That's great you all were able to spot your SR!

thank so much... yep we do believe that's him. his mom agrees..He said he is in the front row

I guess from what he has said he and another guy are in the 2 leadership position in the 911 group..

which makes us so proud.

my daughter is on pins and needles.. she is counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds.  the weather is putting a little bit of worry into my heart about her and her fiance's family long 6 hour drive there. needless to say i will be just as anxious as you all for this day to come just so i know her and my soon to be granddaughter will have made it there safely.  May you all have a safe journey. my daughter is supposed to be recording it and taking pictures and i will be happy to post or send any to any of you gals. If its not too much trouble would anyone mind doing the same for me?  man i wish i could be there to cheer them all on..

Gina...I'd be happy to pass along whatever I get by way of pics! In fact, it would be great if we could all share with each other since we ask may get different shots/videos...it'll be a more complete package! ;o)
sherry i totally am on board with that!
Hey Justin's Mom!  Welcome aboard!!!  I almost missed your post!  So happy you found us here!  ;o)  We're only days away now ... WooHoo!!!  Where are you traveling from and when do you head to Great Lakes?

Thanks for the welcome aboard.....coming from Ohio, due into GL early evening on Thursday.

Hope to see you at the Meet and Greet at the Ramada. Where are you staying?
Libertyville--Days Inn
A few of us are the Residence Inn Mattewa (spell check) and I'm not sure where the others are, but if you don't make it to the M&G, give us a shout. Would love to get the ladies of 911 together. You can call if you like, my # is 8063465807. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!!
Sleepless nights about the phone call tomorrow and the anticipation of seeing my son
I know what you mean!!! Could not sleep last night if my life depended on it! Lol!
