For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

He will be, they aren't going to make him mis PIR. Except for the 900 division, most of the recruits just stand there. They don't do anything special. Because they are a 900 division, which is a "staff" division, they get to have the honor of doing something important in the ceremony. My SR did say that they will most likely be the Honor Division, which to my knowledge gets special recoginition at PIR. If he's standing at a door, watching it while the VIP's enter, that's an honor. My SR and Natalie's is on the Honor Guard. When I was in, I was in the choir. Try not to think of "not being apart of his PIR" think of it as him doing something that not very many recruits get to. The main VIP of the PIR will be the MCPON.. Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. AND, try to think of the fact that your son will be easy to find during PIR. I hope that helps...

It does help. I had the idea that he would be standing outside the door, opening it for VIPs and missing the whole thing. Whatever he's doing he's totally fine with it. It was I who felt cheated! I know! I know! It's all about me! But I have worked really hard to be a good Navy Mom all the way through DEPS and bootcamp. Staying upbeat and positive for my SR, making sure I didn't show how emotionally difficult it was sometimes, writing, writing, writing, memorizing the 11 geneeral orders of a sentry (not something I have a lot of use for in my line of work but it helped to drill him), and I feel like I deserve a graduation ceremony. Okay. I'm through whining now.

I know exactly how you feel on the ceremony thing. To be honest, Scott told me that when they are done performing they go down to the end of the drill hall behind a curtain, although I'm hoping that's just for the ceremonies that they aren't graduating in. I will be pretty disappointed if I only get to stare at him for the few minutes he's performing and then have a hard time finding him after. Fingers crossed for a better outcome!

The VIPs enter through a door directly across from the review stand, about midway in the drill hall. So sounds like he may be the one opening and closing that door for them. The sailors enter through the big "garage" door at the end of the hall.

Pictures from Christmas!! Alex is in the group shot front row kneeling!! I'm so excited to see a picture of him! As my son is a rover - someone who wonders the hall looking for SR's about to faint from locking their knees, i'm guessing they won't be taking pictures of him :-) but I hope all the rest of you get to see pictures of yours!
