OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 03/Div 261
Just received 2nd personal call from my Navy girl!! She is doing well. States she is in a "brother" division of 262 and they keep getting into trouble! Div 261 is intergrated - she says she was the 1st girl to finish their PT and 5th overall (including the boys)! Pending the outcome of their written test (? I have no idea was that means) she will upgrade to E-2. She says she received a "pin" to wear. When asked if she was making new friends, she replied "Yeah, this girl from Arizona. We will be life-long-friends!! I could not hear the girl's name as we were breaking up on my cellphone. Shout out to all the Arizona Moms out there. My girl is from Ohio.

That is AWESOME for PT. I am glad to hear your daughter is doing great...Wish I could say the same my daughter is also Ship 03 Div 261, she is having a rough time. Maybe your daughter could give my daughter a big push, my daughter is very homesick and I don't understand she is 21 and lived on her own for 2 years thought the home sick would be the least of my worries. Tell your Daughter keep up the great work.

Myra, I hope you're handling your girl's news okay. It is so difficult to not be able to touch them and reassure them that this too shall pass. Elizabeth's 1st personal call home broke my heart! She was sobbing and SO homesick - she is 18. 2nd call was much better. At least I know she is safe!! Prayers for your family! Karen

My son Jon is ship 03/div 261 he called me on Sunday and said he is doing well. He says he has only made 3 friends which is not many out of 88 recruits. He go thus wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. He says they yell at them a lot but really didn't share too much. It's so frustrating not being able to contact him. I guess I better get used to it. Kim

Kim, I'm so glad you got to hear from your boy. Fortunately, my girl did not have to get any dental work done. She said there were a few girls that had to have root canals, fillings, etc. My girl (Elizabeth) only talked about making one friend from Arizona. She told me her name but we were breaking up and I could not make it out. Prayers to you and your family! Karen

It means that while she was a DEPper she learned a bunch of stuff (the General Orders of a sentry pops to mind) and got herself into shape. Her Recruiter signed off on all that. Then on arrival at boot camp she had to pass the PT test on 1st try and take a test on the stuff she had learned.These are things that all Recruits have to pass in order to graduate, but since she took the initiative to do it in advance she is rewarded with a promotion to E-2. That pushes her career path ahead by the 9 month it usually take to go from E-1 to E-2. Bravo Zulu!
