We have a division!!! Yay, I am super excited to get to know you all that have our SR's in the same division!

Please introduce yourselves! (no last names :)

I am Sharon. My daughter Erin is 21 and she came to bootcamp from Iowa. I live by myself, work as a dog groomer and I have a broken toe. I miss Erin so much but things are looking up! Got her form letter today. Got an 'I love you :) " on the back! I am so glad to know that Erin isn't alone. She is digging deep and working hard every day, and has your loved ones to help each other, learn from each other, and they are together in missing us like crazy too. And being a veteran, I know, their days are getting better each day too.

Next up.. our phone calls!! Next week? If not for sure the week after!. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Please friend me if ya want!

My son left for BC on 5/16, I received the 16 sec call, received the box and  received the letter 5/29.  Now waiting for the I am a .... , call.  I written my first letter, was writing so fast when I went to read it could not understand it myself and had to rewrite the letter.  I was just that excited.

Happy Friday!!! Just 6 weeks until PIR! Time is gonna start going faster for us at home. Our boxes came, our form letters finally arrived. We can write AND mail letters. So we still have a bit of a wait for our first real letters from them.. but they are gonna be mailing them in just 2 days!! And then we are gonna get a phone call. And then hopefully a letter each week. Before you know it we will get our "i'm a sailor" phone call and be packing our bags for PIR!.

Just like our SR's..every day/hour/sometimes minute seems so hard and like it will never end.. but we can already look back at what we have accomplished in just over 2 weeks! Take strength from that, own that. We survived those first 2 weeks and they were a b*tch most the time. Read the discussions of those who arrived just last week.. you can see they are where we were. We aren't the newbies anymore! We ARE getting there! And we CAN do this!

Happy Friday..hope its a good one!

Well darn.. it's only THURSDAY today :(

No wonder my paycheck isn't in my bank this morning.

Happy day anyway!

Let's try this again.. Happy Friday!! 6 weeks until PIR!!   LOL

Have a good day everyone!

Hey Sherri! Hang in there. The kids are gonna be writing to us tomorrow. We can start stalking the mailman maybe tuesday, wednesday for sure! I am setting my mind it will come thursday. I have seen a trend with earlier divisions that thursday is a very likely letter day. Now telling myself and telling you that sure doesn't keep me from holding my breath when I turn the key to the mailbox and closing my eyes when I open it. LOL One of these days that is gonna pay off!

Hello everyone, I'm Melissa. Erin's oldest sister, and Sharon's daughter. Erin just called me this morning to get more information for her security clearance (I've had a lot of last names). She said she is doing well and is on week 1, day 4. Yikes! It's a shame how long processing takes, but at least the days count now. She said she sent me a letter yesterday, so I too will stalk the mailman until it comes. Although, I already have been...

She sounded good didn't she! I talked to her briefly 3 times this morning. The first time was to get your phone numbers, then she needed Megan's address, which I didn't have and couldn't acquire before she called me back. I do have it now though.

Hey all! Happy Monday. It is 1-4 day for our SR's. I heard from Erin again this morning for more security clearance stuff. She sounded pretty good, yet pretty frazzled that they still are needing more information. She couldn't talk too freely or very loud but I did get that something in her paperwork doesn't match something else.. and they are making her redo it all?..she is trying so hard to be brave and strong. I am too.  She said her boots are shiny! And she looks awesome in her uniform! She hasn't gotten any of my letters yet, but did receive one from her big sister, Melissa. She said she sent me out her first letter yesterday. I know you all are missing your SR's so bad and can't wait to hear their voice. As good as it was/is to hear hers.. those 847 area code calls make your heart stop and then you worry because you can hear their worry over whatever issue is they are calling about. If I had a choice I would opt for NO news and wait for their regular phone calls. Wouldn't give up hearing her voice this morning for anything, just wish it didn't mean she is going through extra hoops.

Good morning, been up since 3am...Missing my daughter so much.Still haven't gotten a letter from her...Has anyone in ship 3 div 217 gottten a letter yet? Also I have a couple questions if anyone could help me out..Does anyone know if there are shirts made for each division? We went to watch a friend graduate the Marines last summer and they had shirts made for each individual company...It was very nice... also is there anyone going to the meet and greet at the Ramada?

Hi Jennifer! I feel ya. I went to bed at midnight and woke up at 5:30 thinking about Erin and bootcamp and on and on and on. About the tshirts.. here is a link to follow  http://www.mwrgl.com/gen_info/rtc_graduation/rtcgraduation.htm  there is a link on that page to click on a mail order form for their tshirts.. that form has the phone numbers etc you need.

No letter yet here.. but they sent their first ones out just Sunday. I expect something today or tomorrow. I got calls from Erin last Wednesday and again this Monday. Both for security clearance information. The first time it happened I was like 'this is ok.. they say sometimes they have to call for info' but the second time put me in a panic worry mode because she sounded worried. I dread another call from area code 847.

I am staying at the quality inn and leaning towards sarge's meet n greet.

Hang in there. You are not alone :)

Thanks Sharon,I can llok at all these wondeful moms on here and know im not alone....thankyou all....im really hoping to get a letter today...just want to hear her say im ok.....I will check out that sarges meet and greet also....thanks and have a wonderful day

Good Afternoon,  I Pray that all is doing well.  Still no letter or call for my son.  The last couple nights has been kind of rough.  But I know that he is alright.  I enjoy reading the comments they helps me a lot to know that someone received a call even if it is for information.  Thank you all
