We have a division!!! Yay, I am super excited to get to know you all that have our SR's in the same division!

Please introduce yourselves! (no last names :)

I am Sharon. My daughter Erin is 21 and she came to bootcamp from Iowa. I live by myself, work as a dog groomer and I have a broken toe. I miss Erin so much but things are looking up! Got her form letter today. Got an 'I love you :) " on the back! I am so glad to know that Erin isn't alone. She is digging deep and working hard every day, and has your loved ones to help each other, learn from each other, and they are together in missing us like crazy too. And being a veteran, I know, their days are getting better each day too.

Next up.. our phone calls!! Next week? If not for sure the week after!. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Please friend me if ya want!

Just got home from work and was really surprised to find 2 letters from Erin!!

I got my first letters from Erin last night. What a relief to finally have some communication/information. She is doing well, struggling with some things, doing fine with other things. To hear the pride in her as she described putting on her camo uniform for the first time.. looking around at every one of them, in uniform, at the same time, was a huge moment for her. She said she was admiring the embroidered Navy emblem on her uniform. A couple of the other girls started mocking her and her excitement about that emblem.. saying she was 'so gay'. She said they were very catty. But.. she handled it well and didn't care that she almost cried when it was her turn in the mirror to see herself in that uniform. I don't know how I can possibly be more proud of Erin, but every day I find I am prouder than the last. No matter what happens on this journey nothing will ever change that.

I finally got a letter today!!!!! Was so happy I cryed.....She said she was doing good, that it was tough but she was doing really great...got in trouble for her dog tags hanging out, they made her stand in front of everyone and count the beads on the chain...lol. passed her swim test and is one of the march leaders.....words cannot say how proud her father and I am right now...cannot wait to see her

Yay Jennifer!!  One more milestone we have achieved..next up should be a phone call?? 35 more days till PIR!

I tried to send you a friend invite but it wouldn't go through.. gonna send you a private message.. got a question for you.. Thanks! Sharon

I got a letter today, I was so excited, he is doing fine, passed the swimming test, there was no complaints.  Still can not wait to see him and hear "Hi Mommy".  Thank you all again

I can not wait. The letter was good but the voice with be GREAT.

Hi. I hope you all have had a nice weekend. Tonight is the start of my weekend. The newness of last Wednesdays letters has worn off. I have really struggled the last 5 days. Work was tough. Toe still broken. Did I mention I whapped it hard the other night? This should be a good week for us all. More letters and finally our phone calls. I just feel so desperate for both of them. Erin left on 5/16... Thursday the 14th she will be half way though. I know that means I am half way though too. I guess I am just afraid that it won't get easier.

I got my phone call!!

My daughter said Erin is really nice and one of her buddies...lol   she said its wierd to hear letters from all the moms that you are all talking about us.....cute

I heard "Hi Mommy", I am so glad to hear from my son. He doing fine not a lot of details.
