My son is in this division.  He shipped out of New Orleans on 7/10.  I finally received the form letter today!  Looking forward to meeting others who have loved ones in this division.

Does anyone know how long before they get to make a phone call home? Changed my hotel reservation today to Navy Lodge. Better price and it is 1.5 miles from BC. Dont have a shuttle though. Will have to drive in. I read somewhere that when they call it comes up on caller ID with area code 847 does anyone know if that is the case or not. I live with people that dont like to answer the phone until it is to late. Kids.

847 is the area code for RTC and the most common one we see. We have also seen US GOVERNMENT and PAY PHONE. AND...area codes for the surrounding areas...so we advise for the eight weeks to answer all and get rid of the telemarketers!

Several of us veteran moms have stayed at the Navy Lodge. Here is my spiel on it:

NAVY LODGE

Thank you FTLW for the phone info. I guess I will be answering the phone. Keeping it attached to me if I go outside. I cant seem to link to your info about Navy Lodge, just keep getting a blank page. I have never been to Illnois so just reading a lot of pro-moms post to get a feel for things.

To Jordans mom, I know exactly how you feel. Just want to hear my sons voice. It would say a whole lot. Mine did the same as yours. Graduated HS in June left in July. Very hard to adjust knowing they wont be there in the mornings. It is funny to see that my 15 yrs old is sortof taking over all the stuff around here that my 18 yrs old did. He said to me the other day "so this is how Nathan felt when he was still at home, all these extra responsibilities" I just laughed at him and said welcome to the world without your older brother to take all the responsibilities. Funny the things the younger ones notice. Just hang in there until they call - like I keep hearing from all the pro moms 'no news is good news. That helps a bit.

I agree - No news is good news!  I know how you feel Jordansmom, I just want to know how he is handling it.  I am really hopeful we will receive letters this week.  As my husband said, "They haven't sent him back yet, so he must be doing okay!"  Hang on, just a few more days and we should hear something!

Okay guys!  Division 281 is receiving letters.  Let's hope we receive letters this week.  Keep in touch and keep us posted if you hear from your SR.

I think that you and I received form letters around the same day so post if you get one and I will if I get one or anyone else this week. Hope so. I got form letter four days from the post mark. Cross fingers we get letters this week. That would make my day.

Hi Laurie - So good to hear from you!  I will certainly let you know when I receive a letter.  I know we are not expecting calls yet, but I carry my phone everywhere and have the volume set obnoxiously high.  Crossing my fingers for a letter!

funny me too about the cell phone, I told my husband I need to find a device to tie it around my neck...lol

Is sleeping with phone a bad thing. HAAHAA

This is fantastic news!  Thanks!

I got my box on the 13th and my form letter on the 19th.  I sent letters on the 19th and every day since then.  Now....I am anxiously awaiting the 1st letter from my SR!  I am usually a fly under the radar kind of person when it comes to my emotions so you wont see to much from me on here but I sure do appreciate each of you updating what your receiving because my items seem to be coming in the same timing as yours and it sure does help to know when to roughly anticipate things, THANKS!!

Also thank you to all of the veteran moms that take the time to answer our questions and post information that we so desperately need.  This takes a lot of your time and I really....appreciate every word.  It has helped with so many things so far!

I also have made my reservations last nigh for the Residence Inn for $125 per night for a suite since we have a couple of people with us.  they have a hot breakfast buffet each morning which will help on PIR day!  Also made our plane reservations out of Baltimore, MD with Southwest.  They have a great special right now for reservations made by Monday.  We got flights non stop into Milwaukee (on the advice of moms on there to fly into there!) for $252 round trip!!!!

I am stoked and now just need to decide on this rental car thing!

Thanks to all of you ladies!
