Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 091 and 092.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

It's been wonderful to have the letters pouring in from my son, Div 92, the way that they have been.  5 letters this week and he shares that he has been enjoying his time there with a wonderful RTC.  He did say that Div 92 is a bit older than the rest and at 18 he feels a little out of place with the rest of them being mid-to-late 20s. Phone calls tomorrow from 092 she shares in his letters so my phone will be by my side all day long :)  Yay!!!

Hi everyone. Just had a 25 minute call with my future sailor. He said they are in w2/d5. Things have been going pretty slow because of the holidays. Said he has made a few close buddies and that there are quite a few in the division that won't conform. He repeated, numerous times, that he misses everyone and told me, "I love you Mom", over and over. Life is good.

britefuture were you still on the phone when they got told to get off?

Hi everyone, I just got a call from my son who is Ship 03/DIV 091.  I found out that the reason we haven't been getting letters is because they have had that privilege taken away because of some guys not keeping quiet and doing things they know they shouldn't.  So, don't worry and hopefully you all are getting phone calls.  It was so good to hear from him  he said he finally saw a calendar and realizes he is 1/2 way to graduation and is feeling better about it.    Just wanted to share with everyone on why we haven't been getting letters.  I do hope you all get to hear from them soon....

Ty'smom I'm so glad you received a call too!

Thanks Nicksmom  I was so excited when I saw the number pop up on my phone.  He sounded better than he did at Christmas but he is one that has been sick and still doesn't sound like he is 100%  My son is the AROC and calls cadence when they march.  He said its because he has the loudest voice lol.   I am glad you also got your phone call.  I am certainly anxious to get to Great Lakes in February.  Hopefully we can all meet and make forever memories with our young men and ladies.

Hey everyone,
I received a phone call around 6:40 tonight from my SR that lasted 25 minutes. It was awesome! britefuturer I'm so glad you got a call also. One of my older sons was over visiting when the call came in. He was able to get my SR's dad, other brother, sister-in-law, nephew, girlfriend and one grandma on speaker phone. It wasn't the best reception (two cell phones next to each other) but it did the job. Everyone was crying tears of joy when they got done talking to him. When my older son called my daughter-in-law he told her we were unable to get a hold of our SR's girlfriend. She said, "I'm at Walmart and I just saw her working in the vision center". She literally pulled over into the nearest spot and ran back into Walmart to hand the phone to my SR's girlfriend. We couldn't ask for a better night.
@DNmom my son had 3 of his wisdom teeth out also. I'm so glad you got a call.

We all should be getting calls today and tomorrow.  Our SR called about 6:45pm our time so 5:45 their time. It was so good to hear his voice.  He said they are on week 2 day 5.

HI DNmom So happy you got your call as well.  Its a great feeling.

Hi everyone, I also got a call tonight from my SR (S3/Div091).  He got 25 min to talk, which was wonderful.  He is still doing well, said that most of the guys that were sick are better now and that there was only a couple that were still sick. He said they are doing a ton of studying.  He said he reads his manuals all the time. There are a couple guys that are still problematic, he isn't sure why they are acting up, but they are being handled. He said there was a lot of PT because of it, but otherwise they are doing well.  He really missed everyone and was happy that he is about half way through.  He said he is learning a lot, he was surprised at how much they have to learn.  I'm so proud of him!

How exciting LisaS!!! So happy for you. My son was one of those that had been sick, but is well now.

I'm so glad to hear your son is well now.  I hate to hear that anyone is not well.  I hope that all the young men and ladies are doing well.  It sounds as if they are being well taken care of.  My son also said he eats very well!  Apparently they feed them good.  At least they have something to look forward to...chow.
