Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 233 and 234

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I got one yesterday.  I was so excited especially since I did not get a call last weekend.  Congrats on your letter!

Victoriahazel I couldn't reply directly to your post for some reason...but what a great price you got on your ticket. Where are you flying from out of Texas? I need to fly from GRK in Killeen. And haven't found any good deals on flights at all. The train is around $500 for round trip for all three tickets. So it was a lot cheaper for me. (:

My girlfriend just took Amtrak to Las Vegas from Cleveland and loved it.   I think a train ride to Chicago from Texas would be awesome!   You can't beat that price for 3 of you round trip...I think it's a great decision and a great way to travel!  :)

Got a letter today! True to form was full of humor. that is my Sam he has been funny since he was a toddler. He said he eats eggs every morning to get up strength for getting shots at 04:00 e everyday. And the guy drawing his blood took about a cup and a half because he was distracted talking cars with my son.

CO-TwinSailorsMom:  LOL a cup and a half is a lot of blood.  I love a kid with a sense of humor.  Your Sam sounds like a delight.  The high points of my SR's letter were if you listen its not that bad, the food is good and at least he is getting paid.  His first sentence was "EVERYTHING IS FINE".  LOL he knows I worry about everything.

Well, no letter in the mail yesterday for me,  but my neighbor's son who grew up with my SR got one!  Looks like he has been writting to some of his friends back here,  which is all good.  I spoke to him over the last weekend, so I know he is doing well,  really not expecting a letter just yet from him.  So happpy for the mom's and the wives who did receive letters this week,  and just maybe to my surprise there will be a letter today from my SR.   It's funny to me how two wks ago we were excited for the Box, then the form letter, then the call and now we look forward to the mail everyday,  next will be graduation.  Life is good!  :)

Thanks Karen.  My house is a lot quieter and cleaner.  Sam never would put his dirty dishes in the dishwasher or knew what a trash can was for.  When I looked in his car (stored in the garage) there was an entire sub sandwich in the back seat!  Navy life will be very different for this boy.  If you talk to your sons Sam is very tall and skinny.  In a yellow shirt he looks like a banana.  His twin taught me how to fold navy style (sounds like gangam style maybe we should make a video) and I fold that way all the time now it is quite compact, neat and fast.

I will absolutely ask Jake if he knows Sam when I get to talk to him.  I am a nurse so I taught Jake how to make his bed using hospital corners before he left.   We had fun with that.  He too was very messy so I am sure he will find Navy life quite interesting.

Kim we are really looking forward to the train ride. My kidds are ecstatic over it. They can't wait to see the sights along the way and experience something many will not. They have a chain to count down the days, they tear of a link every night. (: missing our SR so much. Mothers day will be very sad without him. But took everyone's advice and got a blue
candle and my kids love lighting it and saying there prayer for dad. Helps more than I thought it would. (:

Amber there are plugs at most seats so you can recharge laptops, iPads and cell phones.  So your kids can watch movies or play games. The food is good but last time we went, the prices had a big jump so bring snacks or other food.

Happy Friday Ladies! Congrats to all the new Sailors and their families! We can mark off another Friday on the calendar, 5 more Fridays and we get to HUG our SRs on the 6th Friday. Can hardly wait for that moment!  I'm so happy to see all the letters coming in.

Co-Twin and Karen, I agree, we miss our boys deeply but my house is neat and I don't have to do six loads of laundry every weekend. Lol

Soproud- I have to chuckle at your laundry comment. I can't believe how fast my laundry gets done now with my SR not at home now. I never realized how much laundry that boy caused for me. Ha
