While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son Parker, is contracted as a diver. He departed on Valentine's Day and we got his form letter this past Tuesday, Feb. 21st. It was good actually get something from him. He said there are alot of cool guys in his division. It'll be so interesting to know your son, Bobby and Parker have gotten a chance to get acquainted. Look forward to more conversation and seeing you all 4/13/2012!

I don't even know if my son is going to be on this ship group.
Please tell me how you know that your child, husband, etc is on this group?
When did they get to Great Lakes?
My son Caleb arrived there February 14th late at night.
I haven't heard anything, no "box", letter, nothing.
Hoping to hear soon.

My son also left February 14th. We got his box a few days later and the letter came the following Tuesday, February 22. The letter will have all the information of ship and division in it. Did you get the 15 second phone call? Why don't you post the same question on the main PIR 4/13 site and one of the veteran moms should have an answer? They are a wealth of information. Your other option is to send one of them a message. FireTeamLeaderWife seems to be very knowledgeable.

For those who loved ones are rescue swimmers, do yo know when thay leave for school?? Saturday or Sunday?? I need to book my flight and want to make sure I stay long enough before he leaves. I was told they might have leave for a week!! Not sure though. If anyone knows please let me know.

tbone's mom: I am new to this also, but from what I understand they should leave for Pensacola on Saturday. Sounds like it is probably through a commercial flight, so you can spend time with him at the airport. I read they may be put on "hold" when they get to Pensacola, but I have never read where they keep them in Great Lakes. But this is all a learning process and remember it is the military and things always change!

Hello Ladies. I wanted to introduce myself. My son was ship4/div 822 and his PIR was 10/18/10. He arrived at BC with SEAL contract. The 800 division is somewhat different than the other divisions, as you may already know. If there is anything I can help you with, just ask. If I do not know the answer, I will find another veteran mom who does know.

It's interesting, sjtina. I've noticed there are no moms here who have admitted that their sons have contracted with SEALS. I'm wondering if the recent news events have kept them flying WAY under the radar. I'm sure you are mighty proud of your son.

Bobs mom having a SEAL contract early on is not as hush hush as it would be later. There are moms on here who talk about it privately and openly. Others support and understanding helps to make the journey a little less lonely. I guess it is all in what someone is comfortable with.
beccasusan they have a much earlier start than the other divisions, as early as 3am. Pool time has to be fit into their busy day. They are beyond exhausted. If they are in with SEAL candidates, they will endure the same physical and mental training, which is unending. I am sure he will have a lot to tell you.

any letters today anyone? I know of some people who have gotten letters in 04/810 but they are on facebook!! good luck to all of you and hope you all get letters soon ;) I checked my mailbox 3 times today, I can hardly wait!!

No letter today--bummer. Guess I get to live off of the "anticipation high" you get while waiting. Cross my fingers for tomorrow, but will be out of town for the whole day so Dad has explicit instructions not to open till I get home!!
