While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello Div 811 Moms... I heard through the Navy grapevine there were a lot of EOD guys in this division. My son's PIR was last year in April. He's now in EOD and I just want you to know I'm here for you if you have any questions or concerns. I'll try to answer as best I can. Hooyah! :-)

Hi EOD mom! My son's situation was a bit different. He started out in pre-BUD/S, so he didn't go to A school after BC, but I do know that his friends from BC who were EOD went straight to A school after graduation and there was no time for visiting. BUT, you never know how things will be from class to class and how they are now. Things constantly change. I don't blame you for booking extra nights just in case! I believe A school is about 3 weeks. My son is now at Eglin AFB (in Ft. Walton Beach, FL) where all EOD guys go to school after they do Dive school (which is in Panama City, FL) which is where they go after their preEOD training in GL. I hope I'm making sense. It continues to be a blur! They are in Panama City for about 6 weeks, then at Eglin AFB (Ft. Walton Beach, FL) for something like 41 weeks ( a long time!), then they go to Georgia for jump school, then they go to SD, then finally back to Eglin for graduation. It's a very long hard journey!

I must've been pretty tired myself... I didn't even notice, your double "blur"! Hahaha. Yes, it is good the training is long and hard. The Navy EOD guys are definitely the best trained out of all the branches.

My son is in EOD so it is bc and then pre-buds he said for 3 weeks across the street from bc. I am staying for the week since the following Sunday is mothers day. I am hoping that I just might be able to go to church with him and might have some free time on the weekend once he starts pre-buds.
he told me then after the 3 wks then off to FL for dive school.
So a more personal question. How is your son liking EOD? is he training with SEALs also so he will go on missions with them?

Hi supernavymommy... I hope you guys have lots of time together after graduation. It's such a wonderful exciting time for all the families and their new Sailors! Just to clarify.... If your son is designated EOD, he's not going to pre-BUD/S. That is for the guys who are going to Coronado, CA, for BUD/S. The EOD guys go to A school as you said, "across the street" from BC. Our son started in BUD/S and was dropped and and then got an EOD contract and had to go back to GL (from Coronado) for the 3 weeks of A school. So he's not in the SEAL program anymore. I guess some EOD guys do go on missions with SEAL teams, but that's a long way off. Sooo, let's see, does he like EOD?? Good question!!! He LOVED dive school, but right now he's spending 11 hours a day in the classroom... lots of math, chemistry.... it's really tough. So I'm not sure "liking" is the right word! Hope this helps! My son is in ship 04 div 811. EOD He is from Beaumont, Texas. I was excited to get the form letter from him. He was able to add a note on the back. His name is Andrew. I live in Louisiana. My husband and I plan to attend graduation. Can't wait to see him again.

Well of course the mailman comes before 1:00 on the days I run out to send off a letter to my SR. Now it's 4:00, and still no mail! Waaah! I really have high hopes for a letter today, too. I sure will be disappointed if it isn't there. . .
I must admit I'm spending way more time on this site than I should be. I can't get enough reading the details of all the others' letters from their SR's. Can't wait to share mine!
