We also received the form letter yesterday with a note on the back. I think today is the day they get to write letters to send home. Can't wait to hear from him. We are from Palm Coast, FL

here in Georgia y'all! Was really surprised at how quick the form letter came. Loved the quick note and his news that was he was the dental yeoman. Huh?

Hello Ladies! I am sending you a "veteran" BC SPECOP mom. She will be along soon!

That will be great!  I have so many questions.

Like, for one, can I put a pic of the two of us as my profile pic on here?  It seems that's dangerous for one in Spec Ops?

I would not post his picture. I would also set my Profile Page visibility settings to "Just my Friends".

To do this:

You can make your Profile Page (My Page - third tab over at the very top under the N4M banner) viewable only to your friends. There are other privacy settings too.

Go to: "Settings". “Setttings” is over to the far right column at the top underneath your username where you sign out of N4M's.

Click it. Once it takes you there...this is your Profile page settings where you can change your picture, username, “about me” comments etc.

To the left is a list...click Privacy...read through and change your settings to how you would like them.

The first one should be "Visibility"...My profile page and friends can be viewed by...

Ok thanks.  I did all these things to make my profile more private.  I just love this site.

Hello,

I added everyone as a friend that I've seen with a SR on this group so far, in case you're not sure who the request is from. :) My son left on March 12, and I have had a couple of days now where I haven't cried.  I've been trying to stay busy with my other five kids.

I've been writing him a letter almost every day and also getting his siblings to write.  It helps so much because it makes me feel like I'm talking to him. Sort of.

I carry my cell phone with me everywhere, and when I was at church Sunday and had to put it on silent, I held it in my hand the whole time because I just knew I might miss a surprise call.  It helps so much to know I'm not alone in my "craziness".  (I'm assuming you guys are a little crazy missing your SR's too, right?)

My son is a diver, and I'm only seeing EOD moms it seems like.  I guess they do boot camp together so they might still be buddies, right?

I booked our rooms at the Navy Lodge today.  Glad to have that ready.  I'm getting excited to see him again and hug him and give him back his phone so I can talk to him, text, and facebook again!

@AaronsMom---My son is also a diver. There was one other diver at our "swear in".He was alone. His family couldn't make it for some reason. Nice kid--just turned 19. There was another guy who was going into air rescue. The three of them buddied up and that made me feel better.

It has taken me about 40 minutes to get this much typed so I will try tomorrow again. Prayers are going up for all of our guys.
