Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 081 and 082

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Got another phone call today!!!! He sounds tired and drained - didn't get to talk long - I guess it will never be long enough to catch up. He waited a long time to make the call and then only had a couple of minutes, but we take what we can get.  More letters yesterday, but they are actually the first letters he wrote from December 8, no rhyme or reason.  He sounds upbeat and happy in the letters which helps us at home.   Waiting for confirmation on graduation so we can book our trip.  I feel like I jump every time phone rings and wait for the mail.  Navy for Moms has become my life right now - thanks for listening.

My son's girlfriend got a phone call yesterday..his second call out.  Lots of family members started getting letters from him the end of last week.  He hates the feeling of being cut off from the world and not being able to communicate when he wants. He was very excited to try on his uniform and get his dog tags.  I can't wait to see him!

Hi Everyone, I just found out about this page! I'm super excited.  I have connected with some people on the PIR Facebook page.  My son is in 04/082 (I am still learning all this lingo).  I had a call yesterday which is just what this Mommy needed. I have really been struggling having one of my children away from me.  I guess that's life and I have to realize they grow up sometime.  :/

Hello IdahaNavyMom...my son is in the same Ship and Division.  He's tells me he is one of the younger ones there but that he is making friends.  He has called twice so far...to me on the 21st and then he called his girlfriend yesterday.  In his letter he told me they received their uniforms and the dog tags...he was very excited about that.  How many kids to you have...he's my oldest of four.

My son is 20.  I have a daughter who is 18 and a son 16.  I also care for disabled adults in my home and have a 25 yr old and 18 yr old guys.  A house full! My boy has also called twice.  I finally got a letter from him.  I was excited about that!

happy moms/wives getting phone calls and letters -- I'm one of them!!  My son is in 04/081 and I read somewhere that they are brother divisions with 082.  Happy New Year to all, and hope to meet you at the Meet and Greet and/or the PIR.

He called on saturday around 3 pm.
Happy new year to all!!
I got another call tonight. He said he will get to call on Tuesday too. They had their first test on Friday. Things sound great. He is in charge of all the hangers being straight, that everyones sweats that are hanging have the string straight and to the right(not left), and he dusts the ship. He also said when they are going outside from one building to another that there is too much snow to march. They just move in a group all bundled up. He said they wear a ski mask and then wrap a scarf around their face.
Anyone else get a call?
Hi 713emom, thanks for sharing your SR's call. I did'n get a call last Sunday, 1/05. In his letter, my son tells me that they only get to write on Sundays and do a lot of catching up that they have to finish. When I read about other SRs' stories to their moms, I just imagine that my own SR is in there experiencing part of the stories. That gives me comfort when I don't get a call. I also keep note cards in my purse and start writing things yhat come in my mind that I want to share with my SR. That way, it makes him feel that it's only the distance that keeps us apart. I think that also keeps him in high spirits, because his recent letters do not sound like he was so sad. Thanks again, I'm glad we get to share in this journey!!! Cheers to our SRs!!!

I got a call from my boy yesterday afternoon....yippee.  He said they are all getting used to the homesickness so it's not so bad anymore.  He gets his wisdom teeth pulled this week so he was not looking forward to that.  I asked him want he wants me to bring him...he's dying for my chocolate chip cookies.  He sounds good and can't wait to finish boot camp.

Just found the site, my son is in Div 081. Nice to meet everyone!

Hi BADswife, i hope you and your son are doing well. Are you with other family? Hang in there. Glad you got your call. I haven't received any calls since 12/29, but I'm getting letters, tho. I'm planning to go to sarge's meet and greet on the 30th, staying at Navy Lodge. Hope to be there and meet all you awesome moms and wives and loved ones. Looks like our SRs are doing great, and pretty soon, our Sailors!
