Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 801 & 802!!!

It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

We received 3 letters today - all in one envelope!  Div 802.  Sounds like just what we've heard, they appear to getting disciplined a lot with a very strict instructor.  Our son thinks it will pay off in the long run - says he's learned a lot already. They've had one PST already and had to do it with very little sleep. It's great to hear from him.  He appears to be in good spirits and seems to be keeping the yelling in perspective. :)

Hi jojo! My son is in Div 802 as well. I am anxious to hear from my son. I keep writing words of encouragement to him.

HI meam.  It sounds like our letters are getting to them so we have to just keep on with the positive notes!  Sounds like they are pulling together just as we are on this site!

This site has helped me soooo much!

Congrats, maybe they will all be coming today or tomorrow!

CONTRATS SAILORMOM7!

Went to the mail box still nothing from our SR.  Hoping for tomorrow! :(

Hey all!  Ya my son is DIV 802-sorry forgot that piece of info.

Ditto to you jojo - mine says the same!

I would say to all of you - watch your mailboxes !!!

sailormom7......just wondering what state you are in? We are in Texas, and still nothing.

Michigan and yes we will be driving to Chicago for Thanksgiving!

Must have been a good night for 801.  We got a call too tonight!  Very tired but says it's going well.  Lots of yelling.  Issues with cohesion/marching.  Several guys are gone already.  Loves getting mail.  Will be home for Christmas while base shut down!  Got their uniforms (dress blues and summer whites).  Call was over a half hour - way longer than we could have hoped. He was so happy we were home to pick up the phone.

I got mail from the mighty 802! He was in good spirits.

We actually got 5 letters in all, at the same time. It seems that for a week or so, they were not permitted to mail anything out as punishment for something they did or didnt do. The worst part is losing PT time as punishment! He says Boot Camp is NOT what he expected and how much he appreciates his Mom after discovering how much housework and laundry he has to do. He's learning the concept of "Attention To Detail" and adjusting well to military life. He mentioned also that they lost their extra meal and they lost PT time for various infractions. He was certain (before he left) that mistakes meant extra PT, but that is not the case and he's having a hard time getting his head around the value and benefit of punishments like "bird watching" at the wall or standing nose to nose and smiling at each other for hours.

I just wrote to explain to him that "the value" of punishment is in learning not to repeat the same mistakes over and over! He loves working out--- that wouldn't be punishment at all... And the RDC's know this. They are shaping these young men, one day at a time. Bravo Zulu 802!!!

Congrats JackFlash! Im so Happy to hear about your sailor! It really does my heart good to know that parents are starting to hear from their sailors. Im hoping we hear something from ours soon.
