Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 801 & 802!!!

It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

smart boy, Treymom. Relationships are tough enough under normal circumstances. Waht they are doing is far from normal. lol

My son misses his dogs, but they remain loyal to him.... they stll sleep on his bed!

They even wrote him a letter.... okay-- I helped.

Jackflash my son's dog laid at my son's bedroom door for weeks when he left. We would step over her to get to the bathroom. It broke my heart. I took a picture with a sign saying she missed him. It was really hard to get her to sit long enough to get a good one. lol

My SR is my fiance'. I got most of the letters and I got the one phone call they were allowed when they first got there and the call last Thursday. I am really glad he called me but at the same time I feel bad his parents didn't get a call. Personally I think if I was that girlfriend I would have told him to call you guys. I've been with him 2 years and the only reason I'm really okay with him calling me is because we are getting married lol I don't blame you for being jealous. good luck to you!

I can't imagine it being easy when they have limited calls and may only have time to call one person. Just think, in a few more weeks the communication will be so much better, even for mom.

Jack Flash, writing a letter from the dog is a great idea. my sr's dog  sleeps on his bed every chance he gets and my SR signs his letters with give Bear my love.

If any of you have not yet done so, I highly recommend looking at the 3pp of comments in the PreBUD/S Moms Discussions called "What Did You Bring Your Sailor After PIR?" (started by Cor earlier this year).  When I first joined N4M, PIR seemed too far away to read that discussion detail, but tonight (as I am mulling over what to bring for our SR and PIR) it was great to see an item list emerge.

Thanks ElsieS and Cor for helping me find it! VERY helpful info.

About Thanksgiving, my son had heard nothing about it either. If we are going down there to have him for the day, remove him from base, he needs to initiate that with a form somehow???

Also, is this week 4 now? Hell week? My son also mentioned a couple of big written tests coming up this week.

ooooh... Hoping for a phone call this week!

I wonder... How many in 802 have not had a phone call yet (after the first "I'm here" call) ?

sailormom, I would imagine Thanksgiving break does not apply to them.

sailormom7 - Are you asking about the Adopt-A-Sailor Program?

If so, then yes your Recruit must send you a Form to complete and faxed back to RTC.There is a deadline date (it's usually pretty close to Thanksgiving itself so you have time) I believe what I am seeing on the Main Wall of the PIR GROUP is that only those that had family in the State of IL were being sent the Forms automatically and that others had to request them. There is some confusion about this right now. We do not have a formal release from RTC about Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Sailor yet.

The best thing that I can advise is for you to write your recruit immediatly and ask if you are allowed to Adopt him (he may also bring one other recruit with him from his Division.)I am reading last years announcement and RTC advised this to those that had not received any info.

Thanks FTLW. I will have him check it out but sounds like sjtina doesn't think this applies to our guys. Guess it never hurts to ask :)

Do you guys get most of your info from the RTC website or the facebook site? I just discovered the facebook page. Wasn't looking at the right site previously!
