Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 801 & 802!!!

It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Does anyone know from your SR what training week/day either 800 division in on now?  Thanks.

No word from mine. Did jackflash mention weapons training for week 4 in a past post?
If u go by them starting training week 1 on Oct 9 (Oct 8 was a holiday) they should be finishing up training week 4; however other divisions have indicated their S Rs have written or told them they are only in week 2 or 3 of training. Just curious when our divisions actually got started.

I think it sounds like they might be in week 3 right now. He told me exactly what day week one started but I don't have the letters with me right now so I can't check but if I remember right I think this is week 3

Hey All-received a very short note but he sent the Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Sailor Family Request Form!!!

So guess maybe they can go off-site for Thanksgiving! Does have the w/i 50 mile RTC rule, of course.

For those of you whose SRs are SWCC candidates...

A while back (Oct 21) there was some discussion about which candidates go where after boot camp. My latest letter from my SR said that for the first time starting with this class, SWCC candidates will be participating in NSW (Navy Special Warfare) along with SEAL candidates. This is apparently an 8ish week course/training period across the base at Great Lakes. Just thought I'd share!

I've seen a list of open restaurants on Thanksgiving Day but does anyone have a recommendation???

My son is bringing a friend from 802-I'm really excited about that!

Sailormom7,

How wonderful for you.  We cannot spend Thanksgiving Day with our sailor because we are so far away.

Maybe our SR is the friend he is bringing.  I hope so...... I don't want him to spend it by himself.

But if it is or not.....thanks for sharing your holiday with one of our brothers from 802!

I got two letters from my son (SR in 802) last week - which was really nice because I had a difficult week.  Then I missed a call on Friday night - he said he earned an extra call - but in his message, he said he wouldn't be able to call again for 3 weeks.  It sucks that I didn't get to talk to him, but it's cool that he left a voicemail so I can hear his voice when I am missing him.

We live on the West Coast, so I am hoping he will be adopted for Thanksgiving - but then it's just one short week after that until we get to see him again.  My daughters can't wait until the end of the month so they can see their brother graduate (even though the youngest and he are like oil and water, lol).

Have a great day!

K

I am also going back for Thanksgiving and my SR is bringing a friend from 802. Taking all the cellphones charged up with lots of rollover minutes for them to use. We have reservations at the restaurant that is in an old train station. Seemed to have good reviews on trip advisor. They have a buffet.

That's great for you and Keeg's mom too!

I don't know how you all managed to make these arrangements.  Those phone calls must be golden, because I can't even figure out if my son has been getting my letters-- there hasn't been anything in the few I've got back from him in direct response.  --And we have not heard from him yet by phone.  I don't know if he's been unavailable, or in some kind of hurt locker, or some kind of a Brig!

Hoping for news by mail on Wednesday again, and who knows--- maybe that illusive phone call this week?

I know JackFlash, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the contacts we get from our SR's. WE just get lucky some days. I have not figured it out yet. Luckily for me my SR has been writing letters home and the last 2 wed we have received mail. hopefully we get another one on wed this week.
